DC was a whinger. The pitch too hard, too soft, and when it was right along came another excuse. Good non league and Division 2 manager but hopeless in Division One. And of course we are still suffering the financial decisions he made. ie. Bennett on a 4 year deal. And two of our "favourite" forwards being paid off. You’re a happy chap aren’t you

Dc did a great job in getting us back to league 1 , but when we got there he brought in some awful players such as Burns and Mensah who were never league 1 standard, where are they now, they have found there level. He says about paying players high wages well he did with the likes of Bennett, these poor signings have led to our large debt. I mean they haven’t have they?

I would still have his babies, although I'm probably a bit too old now......and I'm a bloke.

Unpopular opinion, but I never really liked DC as a person. I never felt like his rhetoric about doing it for the fans was genuine.
I actually feel like he thought he was much better than he was.
I did however enjoy the interview after the Matty Taylor transfer.

What I would say is that in any industry, you'll have good managers and bad managers, and even the good ones won't be popular with everyone. DC not only proved himself to be a successful manager in terms of results, but he galvanised the entire club, including the fans, throughout the majority of his time at the club. Regardless of what anyone personally thinks of him (I still love the bloke!) I don't think any sane person could argue against the fact that the way he managed the players and also the fanbase was no mean feat, and it all contributed to some of the most enjoyable years I can remember as a Gashead. Just sad how it all ended.

Sorry but I couldn’t listen past the Nathan Blissett ‘anecdote’, just goes to prove he over complicated everything and really had about as much class as a kipper.

Just sad how it all ended. Don't disagree with you at all, and the two promotion seasons were the best years I've experienced as a gashead since Gerry Francis. I just never felt an affinity with the guy like many Rovers fans did. Shame, but true.

For me there are 7 games that has made me the most emotional, in my time supporting Rovers
0-0 v Southend Roots Hall April 1974 3-0 v sh**e 2nd May 1990 1-2 v Wycombe Mem May 2001 3-1 v Shrews Wembley 2007 0-1 v Mansfield May 2014 1-1 v Grimsby Wembley 2015 2-1 v D&R Mem 2016
DC was in charge for 3 of those, and for a moment listening to the interview, it felt like he was still in charge. Always a debate on who was the best manager & yes he made some mistakes, but for someone who gave us some memorable moments & resonated with most of the fans, he was the best for me.
