Mark McKeever away at Reading, he may not have scored in that six nil win but he panicked their defence throughout. Shortest unplayable performance was probably Astafjevs at Oldham when we won 4-1 they deliberately crocked him Halfway through the first half because he was making them look stupid.

The eleven 'individuals' who went to Anfield in 89 and had the cheek to win 2-0 and win title! what a performance from Arsenal, the perfect away performance by individuals who carried out the perfect game plan as a team, just watched highlights, they restricted Liverpool to very few chances in there own 'fortress' and were always in control, bit of a nerve i know and the first goal should have been disallowed for off side? ,nope, hand ball ? nope, Smith should have had a hair cut so he would have missed glancing header? looked tidy enough to me, Arsenal were unsporting cos they wouldn't let Liverpool play? possibly! Liverpool said it is 'our ball' and Arsenal should not be allowed to play with it! well the Ref was having none of it and rightly stuck to his guns ,fair play to scouse fans though ,in them days they accepted what must have been a terrible disappointment with good grace, how times have changed!

Tommy Wright Newcastle keeper at Twerton. Even Keegan said it was the best keeping performance he had ever seen. It easily could have been 6 or 7 if it had not been for him and the woodwork. Seem to remember Gavin Peacock having a good game that day, admittedly not to Wrights standard. Also agree with LuaLua and Jamal Campbell Ryce. There’s one other player that sticks in my head that played against us for Dagenham, he got stuck in and was everything we didn’t have at the time, There’s one game he was everywhere winning everything if not in a flashy way, Step forward Abu Ogogo.

Marcus Stewart away at York in 1995. I was only 6 but I remember York City fans talking about him going all the way to the premiership. They were right.

As per Rovers team it has to be "The Latvian" away against if I recall correctly Oldham winning 4 - 1. He absolutely ran the game from start to finish. Other teams that I have watched live no question it has to be Liam Brady playing for Arsenal against some team not too far away in the old First Division. He completely dominated the game by standing on or near the centre spot and for every pass of the ball he gave the next pass was back to him for the whole game. For every pass 10 passes Arsenal made the other "sh**e" made 1 pass and spent the entire game chasing shadows. Lovely to watch hehe.

The best ever performance i have seen from a young trainee Rovers player was Marcus Stuart playing at "home" on Keynsham Towns ground in the FA Cup in 1987. Rovers won 6-0 and Stuart sprang the offside trap multiple times. I believe this might have been his debut for rovers? Memory fails me as to why we played at Keynsham. We had left Eastville and were playing at Bath in that first year so I presume it was their ground had a home tie?

Ok I’ll say it, every shot in ‘that’ game Vs Dagenham was either wide of the target or directly at the keeper. Our finishing was woeful (Bodin aside) until 92nd min, rather than an inspired world class performance from Cousins between the posts.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce. One of the only opposition players I’ve ever seen given a standing ovation from the whole ground. Think it was Orient and tore us to shreds. I recall a performance at the Mem by Peter Beagrie. Think it was 2004/5 season v Scunny, absolute class performance from him that day. Think we lost 3-0 and also recall that Shithead Steve Torpey scoring on a very bad day for us.. Beagrie's performance however was something else...

We trained at frys then and our reserve team played just across the railway line at Keynsham towns crown field. This was late 80s to early 90s before the reserve team games were moved to lodge Rd in yate..i believe that our youth team played fa youth Cup ties there during that period too and this may be one of the matches you are thinking of. I do remember that we always played Keynsham pre season and on one occasion we won 10-0 and Stewart scored 6 I think!!!

England World Cup winner Alan Ball playing for Rovers away to Wigan. The home fans were cheering and applauding his passing. Opposition players looked in awe as they couldn't get near to tackling him as he was so good at finding time and space on the ball. He made it look so easy. Rovers won 5-0.

Ricky lambert vs Southend - think he scored 4 that game. I can remember Anthony Pilkington playing for Huddersfeild or stockport? absolutely tore us apart that day! Aaron Lescott and Joe Jacobson couldn't cope. It was for Huddersfield and it was JJs first game back after a lengthy injury and he got no support whatsoever from the youngster playing left midfield that Tuesday evening Poor JJ was substituted at half time and not sure he played many games for us after that
