I feel so much more optimistic after a really impressive performance last week vs Lincoln and a good week all round after beating Northampton and drawing with Oxford in the tinpot trophy. Oztumer looks a good signing on paper. There were a number of good performances last week and to come back from 1-0 down shows strength and resilience in the young squad that we have. We seem to have quite a big squad and competition for places is hopefully a good thing. I'm feeling really optimistic all of a sudden. 2-0 win tomorrow, UTG!!! Burton are struggling with a few players. Brayford and Bostwick out for Burton, both players have good pedigree so must be a positive I'd imagine. Also Lucas Akins is facing a late fitness test and hasnt trained this week "John Joe O'Toole has been wrapped up in Cotton wool for this one". Return of the Toole. www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/news/2020/october/1510-injuries/F**k this. This isn't the match thread because it's not match day. Cockergas to start the matchday thread in the morning. If GGMI tries pulling more sh** like this at midnight or something just delete it.

This lovely thread from a person who has been by far the biggest starter of BG out threads! How the worm has turned, ironic isn’t it. 😂

In recent seasons we (players and Management) have gone into games like this with an air of arrogance and expectancy... Bottom of the Table should be a walk in the Park ....and we have been beaten. I think tomorrow will be different and there will be a real appetite to do very well from all of our guys. They will need to work hard but I sense a HOME Win and some more excellent performances from what is starting to look like an exciting and hungry squad. Are we allowed to drink before the game, just in case? Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR DRINKING!

I’m very confident for tomorrow, though I sincerely hope we do not follow the national squad and fail to show up, after an impressive victory last time out. Thus rendering the Lincoln win (almost) worthless. Tomorrow is a great chance to climb the table and get ourselves to double figures after 6 games, when it was looking a touch grim after the first few. As mentioned, it will be 3 wins on the bounce and confidence pouring through the squad.

Big game tomorrow 3 points at stake the same as any other but the chance to make it three in a row which would build confidence in this young team to a very high level. I’m interested to see if Otzumer will start , personally I’d go with an unchanged side as he did that after our last win and it will show that if you play well and win then you keep your place. Also Otzumer has only just signed and probably only had a half day light training / meeting his new team mates. I think having him on the bench for this will spur our players on to play their absolute best because this new signing obviously has his sights set on becoming a top regular player for us and with games coming Saturday Tuesday Saturday for the next few weeks we’ll need all of our squad anyway. What do you all think ? Start him ? This is assuming he’s match fit of course.

If we’re winning then he’s the kind of player that can keep possession not panick and then run it down and if we need a goal he’s the kind of player who can create or score one. Where as if we drop a player who’s just played in two consecutive wins for a player who’s still unpacking his bags then it’s a risk not only because he might be tired from the move but also because if it doesn’t work out then it sends perhaps the wrong message to a winning side. Don’t get me wrong though I can’t wait to see the little man in the quarters, could be as good as our oooh arrrr Latvian . UTG

I know it comes hand in hand, but for me a win is more significant for convidence and a winning run than the actual 3 points.

Wait for the meltdown on here when we lose 1-0 and Oztumer didn't get into the squad because he hadn't trained, or wasn't fit enough! I'm going for a 2-0 win to the Gas though. 😊

I agree with Socrates and GGMI and predict hopefully a 2 or 3/1 win.
