The new ethos. Play it around the back for about 6-8 passes, then hump it down the pitch. First thing any new guy must instill in the team is not to keep all outfield players retreating to our own penalty area when the opposition have the ball. I haven't heard Wael mention that as part of the new ethos. Maybe he only talks about it in the corridors of power? Surely Tilly you know Gasincider has his glass firmly pressed against those walls ?

Just occurred to me that as Wael s choice has now gone, perhaps it will be Starnes turn to pick one. In which case it will be DerekAdams. After all he loves his old Plymouth mates. 'God forbid'. It genuinely makes me laugh how angry you must be sat at home thinking about wael all day, get a hobbie, I would say a football club but all you do is slate the one you “support” already 😂 Keep the posts coming gasincider, nothing better than a good laugh

I did say quite a while back that if this was the new vision and identity for rovers, then I hoped we would be identifying and closely following future managers to suit the philosophy as we do with players. I would like the new manager to be able to step in and progress the work already laid out before him without having to tear it up and start all over again, putting us back to square one. We have done that far to many times over the past 25 years of me watching the gas.

So BG has gone and we all eagerly await the next managerial appointment. I would like who ever gets the job to not dismiss some of the things the team have learned. on the floor, passing the ball has to be the part of the way we play. Woukd hate us to change drastically and go back to long ball as this, IMO, would be a step backwards. Thoughts my darlings ? Agree. And why Tisdale is the best candidate in my opinion. People who mention Cowley are mad as we would have to change the squad again. Tisdale has been nothing but an abject failure at L1 level at Exeter and MK Dons and if he had any minerals to manage at this level another club smaller than us would have snapped him up.

Would love Paul Cook personally.
Everyone saying that he wouldn’t come to us are forgetting we are in the middle of a pandemic. Hardly many jobs going and money not really being handed out to eagerly.

Did you watch any of the games this season? What we need is some experience in the team, but the clown we've just got rid of did the exact opposite and got rid of most of them. Now we are stuck until at least January. So who would you go for ?

The theoretical style of play is great but you need to adapt it to fit the players you have in the squad. I dont think that any of our central defenders really feel at home with the passing game and even today you could see how Paddy Madden relished being able to press so high. I think that we have a very good squad of players and any new manager coming in will be able to stop the rot quite quickly by just being more flexible than Ben Garner felt able to be

I've watched all the games this season. If you don't think there have been some good spells of play with neat attractive football the I guess you havnt I have, and I agree with you, "some good spells" but today in a very windy and wet day the ball was in the air and awful lot. the pattern was pass back pass back. pass the goalie. Whoosh. We need players further up the field who can hold on to it.
