Has to go -not the right man for the jod-Div 2 Manager but i guess thats where he is taking us Thing is, we've just appointed him, so it would be absolutely mad to get rid of him. I think even if you don't rate him and think he's a bad appointment, you have to buy, at least a little, into the board's perpective having given him the job, otherwise you just look like someone divorced from reality. So, I think if you never wanted him in the first place, 'I told you so' would work if we get relegated, but just to keep calling for his head in a context when there is no way in the world he is going to get sacked (ie with the board having just appointed him) is bizarre. If a chinese takeaway opens near you, but you were hoping for a pizza place, you can bemoan the lack of pizza, but you'd be mad to keep going to the chinese and ordering a thick crust meat feast with garlic bread.

Pointless thread. If he isn’t here we will be relegated. If he stays, which I trust he will, we may still be relegated. We have had a dreadful 12 months since GC went. Garner was an abject failure, sadly, as a manager and it is going to take a long while to recover. Pep or Klopp would struggle here.
So PT has at best the makings of an OK team in Jak, Ehmer (though he had a poor game on Wednesday), Grant (maybe), Oz, McCormick ( both loanees I know) and Hanlan. And Daly if he can stay fit. I still have faith in Westbrook and Kilgour. PT has to work out how and where to fit the others to bring out the best in the core players. That will take a decent while. But let’s keep the faith.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the board are already contemplating relegation and hedged accordingly with Tisdale being seen as the long term choice either to keep us up or to take us up. So do I.

He was never the right man for the job-total knee jerk decision bringing him in-Garner should have stayed and eventually it would have come good. PT is not the answer and now odds on we will be in the basement league next season.

What evidence can you bring up that Garner would have come good, and what evidence do you have that Tisdale was "never the right man for the job"? What brought you to have these opinions?

Personally, I think anyone who is coming on here trying to argue PT is taking us down after three games but that we’d have been ok under Garner is on a wind up. Hey ho.

I can see some green shoots, albeit small, since Tisdale arrived. In Garner’s last few games, the movement of the central attackers off the ball was almost non-existent, as if they always wanted the perfect ball played to feet. This led to the slow ponderous play out from defence and in the midfield. Since Oztumer has been getting a regular start, this has improved and gaps are being exploited a bit more, especially by Nicholson. It seems to me as there is a lot of confusion about how we set up to defend, particularly with the CDMs who are too slow to react, especially when helping out the defence or covering wing backs going forward. We are constantly getting exploited out wide in our final third of the pitch. It appears as though we are currently stuck between Garner’s 3 5 2 philosophy and the 4 4 2 that PT seems to prefer. From PT’s interview after the Gills game, I got the impression that he’s now seen enough to identify where the problem lies and would have been working on that in the few days training he’s had. I hope to see an improvement today and wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of changes in the midfield. However, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear overnight and I feel more confident under Tisdale than I did with Garner.. Give him time.

How much longer would you of kept with Garner? after all he is part of the mess that we are in at the moment, one semi fit striker. I would be shocked if Garner ever gets another managerial job, on the other hand I’m sure Paul Tisdale would.

Garner should have stayed for seasons 20/21 21/22 then we would be looking at the Championship plus in a suistanable position by selling on a couple of players-Now as I see it PT will take us down , be exonerated because it not his players and we will stay in the basement untill he goes.
See you all in the Wellington for our relegation party end of season

I think he's just the man to bring us straight back up at the first opportunity. f**k that . I hope nobody is already accepting relegation? I am. Garner has already taken us down and Tisdale is not the manager to save us. 2 poor appointments in my opinion. GGMI, feel free to bump in May.

He had 33 bloody games and there were no signs of it ever coming good. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. He may have been a great U-23 coach but as a manager he was an abject failure.

PT-Out of work for over a year-Remind me how many games he as won since arriving and declaring the players were his. He lost against clubs in the mix for relegation. He needs three wins on the trot to even start us moving up the league which wont happen.
