Welling on Saturday will put us half way through the season. Our first eleven games saw us win 6 draw 2 and lose 3 = 20 pts. our second eleven games saw us win 4 draw 6 and lose 1 = 18 pts. So although the points tally is less for the second eleven games we are definitely a harder team to beat and now the striker situation has been sorted hopefully we can look forward to the second half of the season with some optimism. To date we have played Barnet and FGR twice and Grimsby, Woking and Eastliegh once but we still have to face Macclesfield and Gateshead twice.....a few 6 pointers there. there is another potential stumbling block even assuming the weather does not force postponements and that is if we have a run in the FATrophy. These games are all played on Saturdays and assuming we progress to round 3 we will have to postpone Braintree (home), round 4 Lincoln (home), 1st semi-final Altrincham (home), 2nd semi-final Gateshead (away) and the final although its on a Sunday the Saturday game against Macclesfield (away) would have to be postponed. I for one am more optimistic with the energy and endeavour of this current team and coupled with some strength in depth now I really believe we will finish champions.

Id happily see us knocked out of the FA trophy in the first round. I always want us to do well in both the other big cups but the FA trophy is sh** and it could really cock up our season.

I actually reckon the fa trophy could be a good way to give fringe players starts and give them a bit of confidence, I don't think we should go for it from the off, but if we get close it could be a decent opportunity....
I don't think it's as bad a thing as its made out....

They can't chane the Gateshead away fixture. A good 100 gasheads already booked flights and hotels
