We own the mem as much as we ever have and in the same manner as we always have as a football club, yes. I thought the Mem is officially ours, the Mortgage was taken on 25 years ago and I'm sure that has been paid off in full. Short answer - basically, yes.

People call the Mem a dump? I don't recall Eastville being fantastic, and comparing the Mem to Twerton....... Happy memories of Twerton but that really was a utter dump' makes the Mem look fairly decent but then what would I know as I've only been a Rovers Supporter since 1979 so maybe I know jack sh** Yeah I'm very uncomfortable with that. I strongly dislike people doing down their own. Me too pal. IMO we are in th best state we’ve been in in decades. I genuinely believe that our owners ‘evolution not revolution’ mantra is coming along nicely. Would we all like everything delivered today - yes of course, but this way is sustainable IMO.

Jesus; it reads like, "The fall of the house of Usher."
Been following since 1980, and have long had the theory, that... A), We`re cursed. or B), We`re the subject of a large sociological survey, to establish how much unhappiness a group of people can tolerate.
From the Stamford University ethics committee review into this study - it came out in 2000 but everyone missed it due the Feng Shui hoax thing. "The study has received many ethical criticisms, including lack of fully informed consent by participants or "fans" as they have come to describe themselves. The designers of the study did not know what would happen in the experiment and outcomes were highly unpredictable, the punching of a police horse for example, could not have been foreseen. Furthermore, the "fans" did not consent to their next of kin being exposed to the experiment by way of being taken to the staged "matches" and being gifted "club merchandise" further calling into question how this study would ultimately be brought to an end. Consideration is now being given to a "bankruptcy" for the "club" or relegation out of league football in an attempt to wind down the university's involvement". ...but has anyone Divergent been identified yet?

That's a valid opinion. However, the word "dump" is emotive and unnecessary in my opinion.

Surprised Bristol is a couple of hundred miles from London. Otherwise it's similar to many clubs. It was sobering the number of clubs we played in the Conference who we regularly played in Div 3 back in the 70s. Wrexham, Halifax to name two. From later that I can remember: Torquay Chesterfield Hartlepool Stockport Wrexham Notts county Halifax Chester York Hereford All of these to me are league clubs. Not sure if they always were

The biggest concern for me is that Rovers fans only ever used to consider the club a league one club that sometimes did well and had a spell in the championship (modern names but you know the divisions i mean). However. In this century thousands of new supporters have got used to the club being a league one or league two club. That is sad. It really was a terrible terrible day when Rovers first got relegated to league two. All those involved that season should always carry that shame with them.

Once or if we get our new stadium there will be 200 page threads on here hankering for the good old days of the Mem.

Agree that the Mem is a poor ground but it's better than a dump. I suspect it's the poorest ground in the league after Accrington. Still, on the positive side, it's an upgrade on Eastville or Twerton Park.

Agree that the Mem is a poor ground but it's better than a dump. I suspect it's the poorest ground in the league after Accrington. Still, on the positive side, it's an upgrade on Eastville or Twerton Park. The west enclosure and stand is similar to the eastville south stand. As in smaller terrace with not a huge number of seats behind with the media up on the roof. The mems east terrace and stand is similar to the north stand and enclosure at eastville. The covered thatchers terrace again a covered home terrace behind yhe goal at eastville the tote end. Mem has a tent with seats in whereas eastville had a 4000plus open away terrace. The tent end at the mem is a bit like the end at twerton that was awkward and limited in size. Twerton had an open terrace behind a goal for away fans like eastville. It also had a covered terrace along the side of pitch similar to the north enclosure at eastville before the north stand was built. The east stand and terrace and tiny added seated area is very similar to twerton park. Main stand and terrace with the added family stand. Basically there are similarities between all 3 stadiums. The mem just has a few more modern facilities thrown in.
