He's a good player already and has bags of potential. One of our very best loan signings. It's unlikely he'll be playing for us next season. He's already better than lower L1 standard and his career would thrive being part of a better team. Definitely Championship material, if not better.

A fine example of our idea to sign young players, help develop them and then them going on to player a higher level for a fee. Just a shame it's the one player who isn't actually ours!

Rory Gaffney is the only one I can think of in recent years. Chris Lines, but not really a typical loan. O’Toole was, Bonham very nearly, JML had the option I believe. But yeah in general it doesn’t happen too often for us

I’m not against loans. Roberts, Cureton both came from loans. I’m against big club youth loans. Why should we be a training team for a big club I'd much rather young players were loaned out to learn their trade than the alternative which is B teams in the football league.

Just read a good interview with Luke for Sky on my mobile. Perhaps someone can post a link.

Great read, don't you wish all young players had that type attitude. Luke if it were possible would keep us up on his own.

Good interview and you can only be impressed by his attitude to the game. Has been a real plus point for us and the only disappointment is we probably won't be in a position to offer him anything more permanent at the end of his loan spell. Hopefully he can play his part in keeping us up, but whatever happens can only wish him all the best for the rest of his career.

I am very impressed by everything about Luke Mccormick- it is the loan system I am against. I think the system should be on a basis of an agreed transfer fee at the onset with sell on clauses so to give the club signin g the player on loan a financial gain in proceedings or perhaps maybe not an agreed transfer fee but a percentage of any future transfers if the player comp-0letes his loan period and makes a certain amount of appearances. The truth is with loans is you only really get a chance to sign them if they are crap in their loan spell.McCormick has been brilliant and even if we couldn't sign him IMO there should be say a 10$ fee in any future transfer. Many of the loanees around now are the sort of players in the p-ast that would sign for a third or fourth division side at the onset and go on to make the lower club a lot of money.Nowadays they sign for the Premiership club at a very young age and many just fall by the wayside without even playing in the lower divisions. Everything in football is geared up to the Premiership and this is what has created the "gap".

Still a mystery to me why Shrewsbury didn’t see what he had to offer them.

What a statement of intent it would be to make Luke a lucrative offer for next season, no bother if bigger clubs are looking at him, get in there first, give the lad a realistic opportunity to develop his game with us, surely it could only be a win win situation for him and the club.

Surely that would only work with players the parent club intended off loading what about the likes of Tammy Abraham's when he was first loaned to CIty, or Clarke-Salter/Blackman who, I believe are still both on Chelsea's books. On the flip side if we loaned Daly to a L2 side next season and he then scored 15/20 goals, would you be content to see him leave for a previously agreed £50K and then sold the following January for £1m/£2m?

There is no doubt he loves playing for us. Get him an offer quick , knowing he’ll go on to better things but have a season or two in front of our fans to become a legend!

The tragedy here is we will not get to see him play live as he will be gone by the time we are back on the terraces and in the stands :-(

Chelsea currently have 37 players out on loan. A few years ago I believe it was over 60 ( when we had Calkett and Clarke-Salter). There’s been a clamp down apparently but 37 is still ridiculous in my opinion. I hope we do make a good effort to sign Luke. I think he’s a decent player with the Gas attitude and we don’t see many these days. UTG KTF!

Ironically I thought last night was one of the weaker games he has had. Not a bad time to have a night off given the result, and especially if any scouts were watching him!

He seems to have learned from that red card. A couple of times last night he held back from challenges he would have normally flown into. Makes such a difference not having him on a booking for a large period of the game.

Still a mystery to me why Shrewsbury didn’t see what he had to offer them. His energy levels made it clear that he had indeed had his Weetabix. Scared them off i suspect.
