I'd almost forgotten how good Wayne Carlisle was from free kicks. That was a dark era for the Gas, but still some fond memories of Rambo, the Latvian and Carlisle. I'd almost forgotten how bad a gk Scott howie was.. And how wooden and devoid of personality local commentator Phil duffell was.. About as 'natural' in front of the camera as Alan shearer on motd

Oxford away. By god we made some noise in the away end that day when Andy Rammell scored. Good times in a crap season.

I sometimes think all we have to look forward to is the past. Those of us of a certain age certainly had our moments. Eastville, watney cup, promotion under Megson, smash n grab. I feel sorry for the younger fans

I will always go but it is draining when you know what work went into getting us back to L1.

And that's why we look like we could be going down. We have some talented players but we don't have no Andy Rammell's in there. I get JB point of asking Andy there ,but if there was any of his type in this squad than we wouldn't be in this position would we. So what's the alternative, we just give up and concede relegation now? Perhaps hearing what Rammell has to say can inspire Ayunga to hit a 25 yard screamer, or Hanlon to stop just looking for cheap free kicks and actually score a goal. JB seems to be prepared to delve into the club's history more than any other recent manager. Topper I hope after watching that second half performance Messr's Barton and Rammell can provide some inspiration because I saw very little belief that the players thought they could get anything from that game. No one came on and tried to take the initiative, another really frustrating game because they were poor and we should have got something out of it.

I'm assuming invited to the training ground to give an inspirational talk to the players on how to avoid relegation?

Are there any other players in our history that have gone onto to become cult heroes with semi-legendary status, having played so few games for us? Rammell's time with us was so brief, but his impact was monumental at the time.

I am up for anything that can be used as a tool to get the lads up for the fight Love the avatar. That was a great tackle and exactly what we need now.
