Pirate, have you read what JB is saying? Get the impression he want's experience. Worst case scenario divers and time wasters.

JB was a big fan of Ashley Hunter - not sure what his stats are but I always thought he was very decent when i saw him either live or on reviews.

Jordon tunnicliffe at Crawley contract is up in June. A season learning the dark arts of tony craig. He would fit the bill

who should we be looking to sign in the summer i like marcus maddison but got a few off feild issuses so maybe not Maybe not. Going to be interesting to see what type of player we go for, anyone think our policy of developing young talent might be abandoned after one attempt? Going to be a lot of players looking for clubs as finances are tightened especially if crowds are kept away/restricted in number If Wael is serious about a quick return there should be scope to bring in some quality but it all depends if we can shift some high earners. Going to be a busy summer! What our previous previous manager didn't realise is that the best way to develop young talent isn't to simply fill the squad with young players and hope for the best. They need the right mentors in the team to learn from - Tony Craig being a great example, as was Lee Mansell. Even Fergie's young team learned from Pallister, McClaire, Irwin, Sheringham, Keane. I listened to a great interview with Paul McGuinness recently where he explained how it's the job of senior payers at Man Utd to pass on the culture and methods to the young players.

I totally agree about experience, but in fairness we also did bring in experience and already had experience in the squad. The likes of Jaakola, Leahy, Ehmer, Baldwin, Oztumer, Rodman etc. The problem was some of those players either weren't good enough or were injured for long spells during the season.

Who would want to come here.....🤔?? Narrows it down a bit.... Think we will pay more than most league 2 clubs and with the new training facilities, we should be more attractive than we were in league 2 last time. Not to mention the fans. Surely we have more to offer than a lot of league 2 clubs.

Going to be a busy summer! We have always developed our own talent, but I think Waels plan was to develop a lot so we became a bit like a "Players 4U" type of club, meaning we always stay in the lower leagues

Wael is slowly bringing us into the 21st century...although we will still have one of the worst stadiums even in L2. Many clubs have overtaken us in the last 10 years

Would like to see us bring in either Tshimanga or Orsi-Dadomo from National League. Two top strikers who could easily make the step up. Coupled with an experienced striker of course

If we could get him to stay fit then Callum Roberts would be a good signing. Undoubtedly the best player in the National League in my opinion and would cause teams problems in League Two with his skill and goals/assists contribution.

Many clubs have overtaken us in the last 10 years We've been getting worse results-wise year on year since Wael took over. Unless you credit his ownership as a factor in our promotion in 2016, which is doubtful since it came well into the season, each year thereafter has shown a decline. After a reasonable first season in L1 under DC, we should have been primed and ready for a stab at the playoffs the following year, but instead it's all gone t*ts up ever since. Culminating in this year's debacle. If this is what dragging us into the 21st century looks like, I'm not sure if my eyes need testing.

Would be interesting to see what players that Barton has already worked with are available. That'll be an obvious starting point. I wonder if he will attempt to sign Josh Morris who is out of contract at Fleetwood?
