Last home game of the season. A chance to go out in style or another depressing Saturday in front of the tv. Some players will be making their last home appearance for us I imagine. Let’s hope for a show of good football and some passion - although it’s too late to be any use it would be nice to enjoy a game. I know there’s a social media boycott but I also know a lot of people rely on this forum for their Rovers news. I will be avoiding the big outlets but I feel the mods do a good job keeping people in line on here and am happy to contribute to the matchday process.

Its something that we are still discussing as a Mod team.
It's a difficult decision because we want to support the social media blackout but at the same time we understand we have a responsibility to our users who rely on this play on a match day.
I guess the difference between Gaschat and the likes of Facebook and Twitter is that we are moderated so we know that racism, homophobia etc will have consequences here.

Correct Hugo
It’s an essential outlet for us long suffering middle aged folk who need something to cling to.
Even though it’s been an atrocious season I have enjoyed the mostly good humoured debate on here and yes it’s been well moderated.
Interesting to listen to our Joey ramble on in his pre match talk, man certainly likes the sound of his own voice! One thing about him though he certainly doesn’t lack ambition and is blatantly hurting so I hope he can use those to develop a winning mentality now.
We won’t see players again and the final 2 games are a great chance to try some of the young guns. Why not. I still find it hard to believe that none of our young strikers have at least made the bench this season?
Big clear out coming by the sound of it, going to be an interesting summer, let’s hope we aren’t centre of attention with his court case!
We need a focused pre season or next season could be even worse. Hold on to your hats.
0-0 today by the way, if anyone’s still awake.

I don't really consider gaschat as social media 😁 But you are right its managed a lot better a d easier then Facebook and Twitter and too be fair everyone seems alright on here 😉 I think another loss is on the cards but hoping for a win. I do believe the relationship between manager and most players is now lost and hard to get the effort out of them

I'd like to think we'll maybe score a goal. Probably an own goal by a Crewe player at best - but I'd take it.
Think Crewe will want it more than us - Joeys attitude is totally understandable (I.e just want this season over) but IMO that means 2 further losses this season. If he was coming out and saying "these players have to show me who's staying" and "we've got to finish on a high" etc then I'd have a tiny slither of hope, but he sounds like he can't be assed tbh and so I doubt the players will suddenly start caring either.
Heart 1-2 Crewe, head 0-3 Crewe

Following the game up there, I know I'll be shouting at the screen every time one of their players kicks the ball away following a free kick or throw in.
I just hope we don't get Martn Coy refereeing us again in a hurry.

I shall wait to see the team sheet before I commit to watching as if its the usual incompetents I won't bother. Surely JB should use the opportunity to blood a few fringe players and if he does maybe they can restore a bit of pride in the club

Feel a bit sorry for the players here as they can’t really win (I don’t mean literally ... although that may also be true). If they put in a good performance and get 3 points people will criticise them for only performing when the pressure’s off and bottling it the rest of the season. Lose with a poor performance and they’ll be accused of not caring, being pathetic etc. Probably least blame outcome for them is a reasonable performance but narrow defeat due to same old predictable weaknesses
Finding it hard to motivate myself to watch this one but probably will only because my 10 year old will want to (feel so sorry for him this season - hard enough to keep his interests up when living in another city with a prem team).

Would only retain two of the current squad and feel quite distant from the Gas currently and let down almost. Not really bothered about today's match but no doubt I will come round for the new season.Would be nice to actually score!!!!!! BG.What a total disaster. Wouldn't be there today even if we allowed in!!! That ain't like I.

He did hint though that we could see one or two off the bench in the last 10 minutes.

BG.What a total disaster. Surely more than two? Jak, Leahy, Alfie (up to it with a Tony Craig type alongside), Nick (fitness permitting), Rodders, Ogogo /Grant surely L2 level? As much as anything else attitude must count and I wouldn't claim any true insight - Barton and pals will. Depends who comes in as well - Bren and Jonah might be rather better alongside a much more experienced older head. Just saying.

I’m not sure it’s as bad as just Ansii, Nicholson and maybe Leahy, Rodman.
I’d be keeping those three plus Alfie Kilgour (confidence must be shot in that side) Josh Grant Jonah Ayunga / Daly (too much pressure, too soon, think he’ll flourish in l2) George Williams The young contingent of Martinez, Tomlinson, Mehew etc Liddle hasn’t featured. Why is that? Maybe Koiki.
I like Cameron Hargreaves and Josh Hare but don’t think they’re rated by Joey else they’d have had more chance to impress
The rest can go on the heap IMO

We seen how JB reacts after poor performances/results. I just hope that a) we win. b) JB gives the players a pat on the back and is complimentary in his post match interview. Would just be good to see that praise is also dished out when it's due

I can't disagree with JB when he says he wants to see the back of these last 2 games, so I won't be watching I'm afraid. Sad to say that I have literally never cared less about a Rovers match than I do today, and that's quite something considering the EFL Trophy debacle of the last few seasons. Looks like JB shares my sentiments, which makes me even less inclined to care if the manager can't even be bothered.

Agree with JB, who cares about the last two games when we are down and a lot of these so-called professional footballers will not be with us next season. They are nothing games, unles he ‘bloods’ a few young players.

I'll be watching, because I know that as soon as the final whistle goes next weekend I'll be working out how many weeks until the new season starts! I must be a glutton for punishment.

Fair play to anybody bothering with today. I'm out with the family having a lovely day so far. That's it for me until the rebuild for next season.
