Pirate how many players do you think we will sign this summer I am going to say 8 That is the amount I would like us to sign, but not sure how many we will end up signing. It's difficult with these stupid squad size restrictions. Don’t think we are afraid to sign more and just leave players out though! If last season is anything to go by. Bennett and Ogogo not included in the first squad etc. At least we have finally got Bennett’s wage of the budget. Could bring in a few player’s at this level, with that money.

It's difficult with these stupid squad size restrictions. I think 8 would be about right, wouldn't be surprised if it was more though. JB trying to sign James Wilson when we still have , what is it 5 Centre halves? 6 if you count George Williams who's been playing there under contract.

Lines v westbroke
Lines can cross a ball how anyone can say u would rather have westbroke than lines must be potty come on how many free kicks corners wasted oh and barret in the gym he needs a fat farm so overweight must weigh 16 stone westbroke runs away from tackles if westbroke and Barrett plays next season all season then we will go down like Southend I'd rather have 2 gasheads in lines and olly Clarke than them too they should be playing Sunday league to be honest I know a lot of Sunday league managers that wouldn't touch them poor players and westbroke worst I've ever seen from dead ball situations my 11 year old puts in better crosses

Chris lines would be a excellent signing Lines v westbroke Lines goes up for headers westbroke shys away lines makes 30 to 40 yard passes Westbroke drops into back 3 collects ball then makes a 3 yard pass to another defender Lines tackles westbroke dont Lines has passion wants to win westbroke don't Lines will put his body on the line westbroke runs away That's why we will sign lines akindi Bodin is nailed on I'd put 500 pounds against anyone who wants a bet he won't come And the final ones will come from Fleetwood wes burns and 2 from Plymouth who are out of contract Mayor and another Lines does not tackle or head the ball. He is not what we need know. He might be a better player to Westbrook, but Westbrook is under contract and we don’t need two similar player’s. If Westbrook goes, then I would consider Lines. We also have Barrett. Depends if he comes back fit this season. Someone said he has been using the gym a lot and trying to get himself fit. Think we need more of a box to box midfielder. I would hope JB would use certain tactics/formation consistently I think it makes sense to have more than one player who can play in a certain position and come in to the side an no exactly what is required. This season we have seen all to often players coming in and playing out of position and being like a fish out of water, at this level you get the best out of players with consistency.

To be honest if Lines and Bodin are two of JBs Four deals nearly done I will be less than impressed... Biggest market for players for years and we are looking to bring back these two? Lines couldn't even get into Northamptons side and Bodin has spent more time in Casualty than on the pitch ... Loved Billy when he was here but we carry enough sick notes. The one good thing about them both is that they are all about Bristol Rovers FC, Good Loyal Lads who care so could be good to have around the squad. As for the comparison between Lines and Westbrooke - it really isn't difficult to find someone who adds more to our team than Westbrooke did last season. Most gutless player in a challenge I have seen in a long while. Perhaps TW and JB are splitting this summer's recruitment 50/50 and those two ex players are TW's signings, otherwise it's baffling why JB's going to sign ex players unless Wael's also dabbling with recruitment?

Most gutless player in a challenge I have seen in a long while. Why does everyone keep saying he couldnt get into Northamptons side as if its an argument for not bringing him back. He was the lynchpin of their promotion season from L2 (which is where we are playing next year) and played and improved a Stevenage midfield since Jan in the league we will be playing in next year. Lines is a very capable L2 midfielder even at 35. How many games did Lines play in the final dozen or so games as whenever I checked it wasn't in the starting 11, I'm not even sure he got on the pitch for any of the play off games and his celebrations after the final reminded me of John Terry! PS Has Wael asked you sing Lines' praises on Gaschat?

Looks like we’ve missed out on one already wanted James Wilson but has gone to Plymouth. Yet another signing announced by another club but apparently we can't announce any signings until early June!

It could also be a confidence thing with him too, let’s be honest he was playing in a pretty sh** team! As for lines I wouldn’t be against it but I think his ship has sailed, he was a fantastic servant for us but maybe not quite good enough now? Oh and Joe Bananas would have cardiac arrest if with did sign him again 😂.

Looks like we’ve missed out on one already wanted James Wilson but has gone to Plymouth. Just read it. I think this is going to be a recurring problem Of course it will be from the outside looking in why would any player in their right mind consider coming to rovers weve had 8 managers including caretakers in 2 years, budgets are lower cos we’ve been relegated , we’ve abandoned the DNA project because we slipped out of the league whilst pursuing it for 10 months , we’ve got a manager that will throw you thro the media mangle at a seconds notice , a shifty chairman who speaks in tongues, an owner who is the nicest man in the world and trusts everything anyone says to him about football, a director of football who couldn’t direct anything further north than Coventry or further east than Hampshire, we’ve got tents for shelter in some places in our ground, sausage rolls aren’t what they used to be and Captain Gas now identifies as a sandwich toaster ok you got me I made the last one up

All the other bullshiters claim inside sources and unknown friends. No way would a fake ITKer ever admit to making up the stuff they make up.

I think this is going to be a recurring problem Need to aim slightly lower I think, most players that can get a league one club will take it. There’s always a few that will drop down for a longer contract but I worry when that’s the main reason a player decides on a move

Chris Lines at the peak of his powers offered a lot, but he was never one to put in a tackle. Seen him make a few tackles.. don’t remember them being very good tho lol think he scored a header as well 🤔 I was always a big fan of Lines he offers a lot of positive forward qualities that are invaluable, but he does need the right players around him to make up for his negatives

...but he does need the right players around him to make up for his negatives To be fair that is equally true for Westbrooke. In fact even having Luke McCormick doing the job of two men next to him failed to make up for all the negatives from ZW1. (Zain Walker being ZW2)
