Cant deny being negative. Still amazed so many people dont seem to bothered the manager is court in 2 weeks but hey ho. I dont have much to say about the 3 other players. They seem to have been there, done it. Finley though seems a bit of a liability Sent off for at least 2 stamps. Reds for lashing out, abusing an official and of course an 8 match ban for abusing a fellow pro Hopefully he wont miss too many games by being a dick Not good regarding the red cards. However on the league 1 page, Fleetwood fans are saying he’s a good player and that they should have kept him and that he should still be in league 1. So not all bad. Let’s only talk about the negatives though😂 Getting excited about signing doesnt seem to help. Of 4 signings I have reservations about the character of 1 and dont have much to say about the other 3. I would say that is 75% positive😉 I would say the same about Finley regardless of our manager, as I would when if we signed any player with a dubious disciplinary record I am all for a bit of bite and grit in the team, but that can be achieved without some of the nasty elements I hope he does a good job for us

Chris Zebroski? Not forgetting our employment of one Bob Newton during our first season at Twerton. There may be others.

Not as bad as sounding like a stuck record all the time. I hope they all turn out to be good. Dont know anything particulary bad about the other 3 signings. Mark Hughes and Coutts have plenty of experience and been round the block. On the face of it solid additions Rather not have a 'character' like Finley though how is it, on that ivory tower?

I am all for second chances and players having moments, but at what point to you stop giving second chances or tolerating moments? Finley starts with a clean slate here, but I have reservations based on his past record I would be better off just saying he was a crap signing (which I do not know if he will be). Heaven forbid anyone has an opinion on a player. People can feel free to w**k themselves of on HMS water the league but that got us nowhere so. Hopefully doesn't do something stupid and have the whole forum slagging him off As I say, I am non committal on the other 3. plenty of experience and seem solid pros. If people want to get excited. so be it. On paper it is good to get some people in the building early, especially when there is the next big moment coming up for the club in the next couple of weeks. I have my Season Ticket and will be supporting the team, but I am sorry for feeling a little bit apprehensive about the state of the club and what it could be in a couple of weeks. I shall withdraw from here for the next couple of weeks, and hopefully we as a club will be in a position to move on positively with as little as no uncertainty as there can be

It was aimed at the amount of negative comments PP makes about anything connected to JB - although, of course he assures us, he wants them to do well, just forgot to mention it in his original post. Reds for lashing out, abusing an official and of course an 8 match ban for abusing a fellow pro Hopefully he wont miss too many games by being a dick Sounds not to dissimilar to Ogogo's record then apart from the 8 match ban, which was for using abusive language of a fellow pro, hopefully, he's learnt to just keep his mouth shut, if he does then he has the potential to be a fans favourite. It's clear from your postings on the AF that your anti Barton "I hope he's jailed" etc I sense that's clouding your views now on the players he's signing.

We have also had players Jason Perry, Ronny Mauge and even the hallowed Tony Craig who have earned red cards for similar actions.
Not often me and Topper agree but he hasn’t said much wrong there.

I am probably have some clouded views, but I questioned ONE of the FOUR. Nobody on this forum has ever questioned a signing as for my want him jailed comment. don't take that out of context. I will repost that for all to see I doubt I will ever take to the bloke. If he gets us promoted, of course i will be happy and I would appreciate the job he did, but i find his character currently annoying, ignoring all his other misdemeanours
If you take away any feeling and look at the appointment objectively we gave a 2 and a half year contract (irrespective of any break/severance clauses/payouts. After all the intention of any manager appointment is for them to remain in place) to a bloke with a criminal court case hanging over him and us.
his his first task with all that in mind, was to keep us up and he failed whilst running his mouth about anything and everything, irrespective of if he speaks the truth. He played to the crowd, whilst washing his hands of it, talking of great resets and promoting his methods.
He has bigged himself up, so now its time to deliver. If he is still here.
Part of me wants him to get banged up and/or a lengthy FA ban as it will top the clusterf of a season off and prove what a s*** appointment it was to begin with in trying to keep us up, let alone the bloke tasked with rebuilding the club
There are zero excuses now for Joey or the club whatever happens between now, June 7th and beyondanyway taking a break now

I don’t know the guy, or the situation, but it must have been pretty bad to get an 8 match ban?
Suarez for less for racism and deliberately biting an opposing player ffs

Suarez for less for racism and deliberately biting an opposing player ffs According to Sam Finleys Wikipedia page he was given the ban because of an investigation into a comment he made to a Rochdale former Irish international player about his nationality.

Part of me hopes it’s against a team of northern cloggers and part of me wants it to be against one of the promoted sides as a welcome to the league!!

Players signed for their tenacity. Two are thirty plus and have only one year deals, so they have travelled south for one last pay day. The other two in their twenties would not be wanted by any team above level four All in all I would not say the signing of these players equate to exciting times We're you excited by the signings last Summer? Look how that turned out. Give me 100% effort and commitment everyday, not the 'talented' young players that we signed with a view to selling them on at a profit. Or preferably (for me) a mix of both that works! Hope these guys provide the missing backbone that also allows 2 or 3 of the young exciting ones to fulfill potential. My money is on Ayunga coming good and Westbrooke playing a big part in our promotion! (we can dream in close season)

Welcome to the gas to all 4 players. Nice to get some deals over the line so early. As other have said I got very excited by our signings last summer, so this time around I am going to keep calm and judge them on what they do in the blue and white quarters.

Actually the above is factual In your opinion! No it is factual, these players have been brought in because they have Northern Nous, they have not been brought in because they are exciting young prospects who will eventually be playing for Manchester City or Barcelona. These guys are at our club because they know how to Rock and Roll, they are not here to Tip Toe Through The Tulips. There is nothing about these characters that says "After You Claude".

Good to see new players through the door. Must be a few out too. Unless we’ve made the majority of our defensive and midfield signings for the summer in one swoop. Perhaps keeping the strikers details back just in case we're gazumped, or we're going to announce 4 more signings tomorrow! Flair players are usually signed by most clubs later in the transfer window, as their agents want to wait to get the best offers. Hopefully that won't mean we leave it too late and miss out again.

After last summer when it was all positive I will welcome them all to Bristol. They’re all good players on paper but let’s wait until they’ve all played some games before we go OTT! And it’s always good to question what our leaders are doing! Stops complacency.😉 But it’s good to have made the signings as it will be a good positive start to try the climb back, but never apologise for questioning what’s happened. UTG!
