Sat in a static caravan in a holiday park, eating stone baked, wood fired pizza from a mobile van. Very welcome after taking the kids surfing.
First time away after 18 months shielding. Almost forgotten what it's like to relax, then the football started!!!

There is a surf school helping children with special needs, brilliant day and can't praise them highly enough. Son rode on a special board and my daughter even managed to stand after just a bit of coaching.

Yatton towers went mental, in between having to hand out sweets for every 10 mins we didn’t concede a goal .

You an ex-pat, have a holiday home there or a native? Yep, holiday home. Retired so spend at least 5 months a year here.

You had me until Sainsburys...sacrilege! Edit: only kidding, have a great night! I spent about 2 years driving miles to avoid going there and still despise them but eventually had to relent, and thought about the collider deal Nick Higgs signed, and blame him and the solicitors, there should have been no wriggle room. I stopped using them recently when they said that if you weren’t on board with BLM then you shouldn’t shop there. You find that companies who have monopolies/duopolies/oligopolies (as in a company which its very hard to avoid using them as there are few practical alternatives) - like Gillette, google, Facebook, sainsbury etc, often take these political positions because if you don’t like it, you can’t really avoid them. It’s the politics of the people who run them, and they can happily throw it at you and you can’t do much other than live an elaborate life trying to avoid them. You will note companies which retail discretionary goods are much less likely to adopt these overtly political stances. Ironically the politicisation of corporates is fulfilling one of the tenants of fascism - the merger of corporation and government. As a brand of authoritarian socialism, we can see right through business, institutions and governments, political narratives are now being standardised throughout. I thought it was a businesses purpose to sell us things, but it is rapidly moving to including advocacy or various political messages and doctrine. I’m certainly not saying that the message is even bad - equality isn’t a bad aim, but it’s the wider idea of businesses saying “you need to think this way to shop here” which is a bit chilling, but people don’t think this deeply and will just assume “you’re supporting discrimination if you aren’t on board”

In the house in Kouspades, Corfu. Blinking hot! C'mon England! It is ridiculously hot in Greece right now isn’t it! Watched last nights game in Santorini. Wasn’t as hot last week in Mykonos. Watched the Germany game in Mykonos and was surprised by how many Brits were in the bar. Must have been 50/50 English and German support. Thought we would have been heavily outnumbered!
