Come on. Enforcing existing guidelines isn't all that difficult when capacity is capped at 2k. We shouldn't have to wait an extra week. I've supported the club over the last 17 months through season tickets and shown goodwill in not claiming a refund. I'd be really disappointed if they took that decision. As the club has not confirmed that no fans can attend Saturday, it remains what it is, a rumour posted on social media. With Boris due to announce what will happen from the 19th at 1700 today, I would expect the club to announce the ticketing details for the friendlys as previously promised not long after. Sajid Javid's already announced most of the changes in the Commons, COVID "passports" will be required for large indoor venues such as nightclubs, but there's no mention of them being required for sports stadiums.

No problem if the club decide not worth the hassle, but fans attended at Melksham so assume possible within current guidelines ? Showing goodwill to supporters who have backed the club through arguably the most difficult period in our history isn't worth the hassle?

What a joke. Really poor IMO. So after having no match receipts for well over a year you expect the club to play a game that the attendance of 2000 maximum will see them make a loss? They have stated all three other games will welcome gasheads, don't see the problem of waiting another week.

A few, like myself, won't be able to make the other games so this would have been the opportunity. Given the goodwill shown by so many, just feels very disappointing.

What a joke. Really poor IMO. Smart decision, a weeks notice to sort out tickets and priority for them isn’t ideal, plus we’d essentially be letting fans in at a loss as mentioned above.

It wasn't a weeks notice though was it? We've had months to prepare for it. Just feel disappointed given the goodwill shown, not requesting refunds etc.

Well you can give the club support by buying an IFollow match pass. Like yourself I am a ST holder and did not take a refund and I will be watching all friendly games on IFollow. So that equates to almost forty quid into the club's coffers from myself alone and saves me the two hundred mile plus round trip in the car. I will however look forward to attending the first home game of the season in person. UTG!

Feel far less inclined to provide the same support now given that stance.

Previous friendly matches.have been a fiver a go from memory. There would be a public outcry if the club asked £15! As regards the costs why not email Mr Starmes or Tom Gorringe, I'm sure they will be more than happy to furnish you with the costs involved.

As a pre 19 July fixture it would have been classed as a test fixture meaning social distancing would have had to take place so all the stands would have had to be opened not just one stand, and the bars closed plus, I assume, proof of a negative COVID test would have to be supplied and that checked out by somebody at the club.

What's one more game to wait after 16 months?
It's only a preseason fixture and apparently we're playing about as well as we did last season in them anyway!

Perhaps there using this game as a refresher / training day for stewards, security etc....
Would be daft to do that on a day with public attendance....

Should let season ticket holders in for free ? Why? The club hasn't had any ticket revenue for a year +
