Breaking news - being vaccinated twice doesn't give you invincibility against Covid or mean you can't catch or pass it on. The requirement of masks in the open air would be ridiculous and inconsistent with the data. Of course the club can insist on this, but I suspect that would have quite a hit on attendances. As regards your first point. Having two vaccines significantly reduces the chances of passing on the virus and catching it. Much greater protection than someone who's had one jab. As regards wearing masks outdoors, why would that be required at a stadium like the Mem. Sitting in the likes of the East Stand or in my case standing in the West enclosure draws very close comparisons to being in a wind tunnel and no I am not talking about human induced wind, although that can be a problem sometimes. I doubt the Government are going to say all fans at league football grounds must wear masks apart from those attending the Mem?

The world will never be the same again. I would be angry but it won't change anything. Such a shame.

Just thinking around this - presumably if this comes to pass - someone without a smart phone can’t get into the Mem? Not sure how many people this may affect though……🤔 It does mention printing off the certificates, although I assume they can't be printed off without access to a phone.

I think we'll be ok at the Mem... Fair point getting paper copy as back up though. You never know! Still confused as to how you prove at the turnstile (presumably) that a bit of paper is yours and not someone else’s……. Assume they'll check your name against your season ticket/match ticket (in theory anyway!) ?

No problem with vaccine passports/lateral flow tests, although I feel masks should be voluntary. Pointless being voluntary given that wearing a mask only protects people around you rather than yourself, surprised though that you can sit in a pub etc without a mask, even a nightclub, but not a football ground stand.

Quite an astute observation there Topper, considering my post was not suggesting that.

I would anticipate that wearing masks will be required inside only - e.g. bogs and bars.

This vaccination passport should not be a thing and is a load of bollox. My decision if I get vaccinated or not, think the government needs to stop forcing it on people who choose not to be vaccinated. Why do I need to have a jab when, you’ve had the jab? ?

You can still carry it and pass it on to someone who is a lot more vulnerable. A friend of my family has just died after contracting Covid in nursing home after having both jabs, but was too old to fight it. Fine don't get the jab, but don't expect to be able to do everything you used to do without them.

What happens if people need refreshments? They can take their masks off? Or can they not be sold? In which case everyone who doesn’t want to wear a mask buys a drink and looks after it for 90 mins to evade the rules. Even if they do sell refreshments, think of the queues with 2 meters gap between each person or group.

They appear to be saying clubs must introduce these mask and passport rules in order that full capacity attendances can happen and continue through the winter rather than be cut back when cases inevitable ride in the Winter months.

Schrodinger's COVID regulations. Clubs are both required and not required to force fans to wear masks and provide proof of vaccine. It's both possible to run an event without these requirements and impossible to run an event without these requirements. And from July 19th that's irreversible.

You can catch it from someone double jabbed in the supermarket. Makes know difference if I’m jabbed or not to anyone.

Well it's a good job everyone doesn't have that selfish mindset or we'd all be screwed. Why not get it, its 2 free little injections and will probably make you feel a lot less sh** if you did get it??

You really need to sit down and educated yourself about the advantages of being vaccinated.
