Can't believe that some still seem to want to find negatives when the majority are really looking forward to seeing the team live again. Making comparisons with previous seasons in terms of away attendance is largely irrelevant as no two seasons are the same and to imply that COVID has played no part in some not travelling is bizarre in the extreme. Our away support has always astonished me- as an exile from the Bristol area of forty five years, I don't get to many home games so for me, the away games are a chance for me to feel the connection I still have with the place of my birth and those that still live there. It's like a large family meeting up, yes, some disagreements but on the whole, we are all pulling in the same direction. A possible 1500 attending? Calling that kind of support 'pathetic' is way over the top in my opinion and I for one will feel a sense of pride to stand alongside everyone, the majority having travelled a lot further to get to the game than me. I am sure that Mansfield wont feel that our support is pathetic. I also hope that when the players run out, they will see what support they can receive if they play for the shirt and even better, get some good early results. Great post. I am really looking forward to tomorrows match, the away day match experience is unrivalled.

Interesting from Barton: Last seasons budget was £2.5M-£2.6M, this season it will be £1.8M-1.9M

FFS. Highlights the desperate need for another quality option up front.

Memories of last season Anyway - we never win our first game. But hopefully it will be a fun day out nonetheless...

FFS. Highlights the desperate need for another quality option up front. Absolutely. I think Barton recognises the need for another top drawer striker with his comments in the article about all this weeks hard work on the training ground possibly not reaping its rewards now tomorrow. Real kick in the teeth pitman being injured. My worry is pitman will pick up a few knocks this season and have spells on the sidelines so another decent goalscorer is essential.

I bet Pitman doesn’t play more than 20 games this season.

He's stating a fact but don't let a fact get in the way of a moan... We will still have one of the better league 2 budgets, plus he stated he got the players he wanted, so no excuses...

All lined up and ready to go when he wants something to blame. Let's see ...

Pitman out. Knock during training. Are we actually a serious Football Club? Jesus Christ. Why don't "serious football clubs" players ever get injured during training sessions?
