Remember when Clint Hill and Joey Barton arrived and they spoke about their commitment to the club and accepted the personal sacrifices they had to make? That didn't last long in the case of Hill. Shameful abrogation of duty on his part, long on promises, short on delivery. Only consolation is that he bore all the hallmarks of yet another management team failure, so perhaps no great loss. The club is imploding (once again). Want so much to believe in Barton but he looks increasingly lost on all fronts. When will we make a successful appointment ....? Personally can’t blame him for putting his family 1st. He gave it a go and decided not for him. Shame as he was clearly our plan B if Joey falls out of bed Clearly? Who said that?

Chilly there’s no need for that. Hugo was kind enough to explain Somerset’s post, then explain why he responded to your post afterwards. kind enough to explain? Don’t take the water mate

I feel like I know why he's been reading about Shackleton. Ring any bells? Desolate, falling apart, covered in canvas? I think it's time to eat the dogs.

Something very fishy is going on here. Hill walking away 2 games in is very concerning.

Something very fishy is going on here. Hill walking away 2 games in is very concerning. It is concerning as he seemed a decent person to have around. He returned home due to a family incident and decided after a week that he needed to stay with the family. Shame ,but only doing what you would expect most people to do

Shame as he was clearly our plan B if Joey falls out of bed Barton referred to a safety issue with Hill's family before the Mansfield fixture. Whatever the reason was, if you work with Barton you are likely to become tarnished to some degree. Perhaps Hill thought it was time to distance himself from Barton. It is difficult to see Barton lasting much longer because his Team should be able to perform much better than in the last three games even with the lack of a striker. The conceding of late goals suggests poor levels of fitness and Barton had to take 4 days off when he had family issues recently. We have not been adequately prepared for this new season.

I feel like we should ban the phrase, 'it can't get any worse'.
Some how even when you think it couldn't get worse, we always find a way.

Fair challenge, just think he was JB number 2 and possible successor, based on stepping up when JB was distracted. It’s been many a clubs downfall to not have a number 2 waiting in the wings as creates a handbrake turn moment when manager leaves. Think DC as JW understudy was part of his success as he didn’t need to start afresh in the way new mangers seem to need to

His comments on twitter suggest more than the family issue to me.

The only thing I'm not sure about is that I can't figure out if its falling apart, or if its fallen apart....
One thing i can be sure about is that it is one of them though....

Everything about the club, both on and off the pitch is a joke. National league beckons. I thought the support was decent today

Remember when David Coles left for personal reasons Was that about when Tis brought in his mate who had that odd job title and happened to be a goalkeeping coach as well?
