Surely the time for Col Gibson to get involved with the SC?
His role as an independent, non-executive Director will see added transparency at the Board level, with Chris taking on a liaison role with various Supporter's groups ensuring fans voices can be heard at the top level.
As well as this, Chris will be offering his expertise in the areas of business development and corporate management to further improve professionalism and business performance.
Speaking about the appointment, Club President, Wael Al Qadi said, "We are delighted to welcome Chris to the Board and are looking forward to working with him to build success here at Bristol Rovers.
"Chris has a great degree of experience of leadership from his time working in the military and special forces and he has worked with our Manager previously.
"His experiences, coupled with the work he does with the FA, would be a valuable asset to any football club.
"In his role, he will bring appropriate governance and assurances to the Board's activity, in order to make the processes as transparent and accountable as possible."
Chris Gibson MBE added, “It is a real privilege and honour to be working in support of Bristol Rovers Football Club. I hope to use my experience, insight and track record of developing high performance teams to provide appropriate leadership guidance and mentorship to all those I come into contact within the club.”

Wasn’t he tasked with engaging with supporter led groups? Can’t say I’ve heard much from him so far.

He's already involved apparently by sending a letter to the chairman of the Supporters Club recently.

I was quoting the press release announcing his appointment. And wondering what was happening with his ‘liaison role with various Supporters groups ensuring fans voices can be heard at the top level’. Seems this is needed now more then ever - hence my post.

"Hi is that Jim Chappell?"
____"What if it is? Who are you? I don't trust you."
"Just wanted to run an idea by you. We have an ex-Special Forces hard man appointed by the Board, and we wondered if you'd like him to join you on the Supporters Club executive."
______"Yeh ok. That should be fine."

Or for those of you who are fans of Kevin Bridges, “give us a quid, or you’re getting …….” (Please note the reference above is for comic purposes only and in no way condones violence against a person).

He has been at the club a long time now and only managed to write a single letter to JC. Nice work if you can get it.

He's probably spent the rest of the time reading up on what the SC/PC have been up to since Wael arrived, then re-reading it all as he couldn't believe what he'd read?

These Special Force’s types aren’t renowned for their letter writing. Their M O is strangling insurgents in the dead of night. Just hand over the Bingo money rapido.

I think it’s quite obvious that he would engage with the SC if the SC could be bothered to engage with him. But as he has been appointed to the board by the FC I very much doubt there is any enthusiasm from the SC to have a conversation if there is absolutely no benefit for them to do so.

There was an in depth review made all across the club and major changes in areas were highlighted. This saw some members of staff leave. Perhaps the SC and PC were also highlighted in this review as not being upto standard in the modern age. ? ? ?

The reality is that only a few people really know what has gone on and you can be sure that the full facts will not come out. I found through personal experience that some people are better at playing the press than others so it is better probably not to be too judgemental but to wait and form your own opinion from personal experience.
