One or two will know me on here, they will know how opinionated, bloody minded and negative I have been in the past! I was at the game yesterday and my opinion is not a completely negative one on our current team, if you go looking for negatives they are very easy to find! There was some good stuff yesterday particularly in the first half, to my mind we looked more like a team rather than individuals and our defensive game looks to be coming together, yes for sure we need to find a way to be more challenging going forward, goals win games and we don't create enough decent chances over the 90 minutes that's plain for all to see. I enjoyed the day yesterday (if I went away to watch the Gas win I would have stopped months ago) obviously disappointed that we didn't at least come away with a point but enjoyed the game, credit to the Hartlepool fans a fantastic home following which generated the best atmosphere I can remember at a game for quite awhile, was lucky enough to bump into Andy Monkhouse & his son both before and after the match (what a gent he is) overall thought the Hartlepool people were very welcoming. Last thing to say (I'm not a fan of this constant diversity agenda issue being raised in football) so not looking for brownie points when I say I thought the referee had a very good game so much better than the usual dross we seem to get served up, so well done to her! Very kind words about our fans, definitely one of the best atmospheres in the lower leagues. Onto the game first half I thought we were poor obviously missing our best two players, while I thought you were probobly the best team to visit us so far if a little like us toothless up front. Rovers played some decent footy though against a team thats won 19 out of the last 21 at home. Second half you seem to tire really quick and it opened up to us, on the second half showing we probobly just about deserved to win it. I can understand your fans frustration, probobly on triple the budget of our team and I can't see Barton surviving long if results don't improve, I guess you expect way better, I'm sure in time it probobly will get better. Walsall visited us the other week and were dreadful, yet since then they have picked up a bit, rovers looked much better than them. Anyway best of luck Fair play pal, thanks for th unbiased opinions. Best o luck for th rest of th season 👍

If we didn't lose yesterday because of the ref and the ref actually had a good game, although began to make wrong decisions for both sides as the game wore on, why didn't JB berate himself or the team for that performance but instead go and berate the ref? Because reacting this way after the game suggests his blame was going towards the ref. How can you berate yourself? Basil Fawlty style? You are able to criticise yourself.

Sounds like you had a good day out, jealous of that. But your post reads like the enjoyment of your day coloured your review of the game. For me though saying we did ok in one half, normally defined as we didn't concede, but we were disappointing in another half, doesn't cut it. We failed to score, created almost nothing and lost. Again. Being better than the debacle at Exeter is a bar set so low that even judging a training session as "good" is deemed progress. This is just terrible Oldie to be fair your probably right, life overall can be pretty stressful at the best of times, not that I have any problem with that. I get the passion of football and believe me I have suffered sh**e weekends due to our negative results, going by this forum far to many people beat themselves up over it, again I get it, I have taken to making matchday more than just that, away games with family and friends good for a pub meal good chat and banter, finding something else to do prior to game, yesterday we went onto Sunderland prior to game to see the stadium, then drove down the coast to Hartlepool breathtaking views etc, if I went up there solely to watch the match hoping for a win I would have been watered right off, done it so many times in the past!

Totally. I am glad you can make such a day of it. When it goes well, like your trip, the actual match can become secondary. Which when with family and friends, it is. Keep it up and good luck.

How can you berate yourself? Basil Fawlty style? You are able to criticise yourself. Assuming you mean publicly isn't that the first signs of weakness in a manager, once DC and PT started doing that they were soon history. I've no idea why JB still hounds refs as he even he admitted it's pointless/doesn't help matters.

He takes no accountability for his own work but always blames others. When we win is "us" and "we". When we lose is "they" or "them". This time we have the commentators and fans in attendance say the ref was actually good yet JB goes for the ref again. If he said it's pointless/doesn't help matters then why do it. I understand if a bad decision was made and it costed us but to do it when the ref was good and didn't effect the outcome, just doesn't look good.

Other than when we were through on goal and the ref blew up for a free kick to us, no playing advantage like other moments in the match according to the commentary, very poor in my view in that instance.

I doubt JB become a Premiership player without being critical of his own performances.
I agree re refs, as JB seems to as well, but we're not in such a mess solely because he hounds refs at the final whistle.

I can see why if the ref was poor and costed us the game but to do it when the ref had a good game and didn't cost us the game is not great.
He may have been critical of his own performance as a player but I am yet to see him take any accountability as manager of our club.

No I didn’t spot him and whilst that doesn’t mean he wasn’t there, I hope this isn’t a stir the rumour mill wind up post as a small number of people are calling for JB to go and a small number have touted Sol as the one to take over… Personally I can’t see Wael forking out even more throwaway cash on relieving a 3rd manager of his duties - especially after backing him so much with the squad and coaching reset etc

Saying that he is firmly in the Joey boat ! he is not one to do anything like this anyway And yes i can't see our beloved leader and owner doing anything at this time
