Fantastic header by Mehew Forest Green have a corner with players moving all over the place. Mehew is dragged and is caught with his bdy the wrong side of the ball but manages to leap and then arch his neck to make a vital intervention.
Someone's looking to cover a certain Alfie Kilgour this Saturday me thinks...

GOAL! Bristol Rovers 5-1 Forest Green (Phillips) As easy as that, Phillips claims his second of the game.
More on the goal This was another fine move with Ford overlapping and then rolling a low cross into Langlais who shook off his marker on the turn and then set up Phillips with a simple side-footed lay-off.
Phillips initially looked to have got his feet wrong but turned onto his left, took a moment to find his spot and then caressed his shot into the far corner.

Vaughan hits the post! It's very nearly six as Phillips plays a pass into Vaughan who unleashes with his left foot from about 20 yards and it beats John but strikes the face of the near post.
Phillips clapped off
Phillips gets a good ovation as he leaves the field with Josiah McKayle now on.

Full-time! Bristol Rovers 5-1 Forest Green Rovers Well that was all rather impressive with Rovers breezing past Forest Green. I say breezing but they had to work for this and all five of the goals were of real quality.

Very impressive, would think at least 3 of those lads passed an audition for Saturday, Hope JB took note.

I still can’t get my head around why phillips hasn’t been given a few games to see how he gets on. Can’t be any worse than what we’ve got.

Was Barton there? Bet he was bemused by watching us create chances and scoring goal!

Bugger me, I thought it was Saturday already once I fully woke up I then realised...... Good Job lads.
Like his Dad I always felt Mehew needs more game time in the first team squad, I used to love Boris. That man could drink back in the day but boy he knew where the net was too!

Though begs the question if we are insistent om playing a back three formation then surely the U23's should line up the same?

A back3 only works if you have the wingbacks to do it and we have struggled in that area.

Personally I would like to go back to the back four, maybe the U23 only have limited options at CB as I thought Mehew was a midfielder but he shone at CB it seems
