OK. All of those players came on heaps with Bristol rovers and fulfilled the potential we payed money for in several cases. Pretty sure pirate isn't suggesting that the players you listed were great and fulfilled their potential for us, but more that they weren't "ruined" by us as you put it. As usual, it doesn't need to be defined by either one extreme or another. OK then, I’ll try to use more moderate language to keep everyone happy

Only the young lad Airidas Vilinauskas who didn't exactly cover himself in glory during the 4-0 drubbing by Exeter in the FA Youth Cup. thanks. Would have been carnage on here if belshaw had played and got injured I remember Tisdale selecting Jaakola for a Pizza Cup game (nearly a year ago) and he went off injured and I don't think he has played since! Although it does sound as though that achilles injury was bubbling beneath the surface anyway, so would likely have happened regardless - but I was certainly cursing Tis at the time!!!

Im not sure the Ward situation was entirely JBs fault, the player said he was fit to start, the physios checked him over and said he could play. He could have overruled them I suppose but isn't the point of the medical team to guide the manager regarding players fitness ? It was Barton's decision to throw Ward under the bus though. He could've easily have said nothing about it and taken some responsibility for another loss in which we were rubbish (according to those who watched).

Then the lad Ward would have got stick for not saving at least 3 of them? I personally think Barton did the opposite of throwing him under the bus.

Yeah I agree (and I have been a big critic of the mouth). Takes some pressure off Ward as at least 3 were very saveable. At least he didnt risk Belly and end up with no keepers.

I'd imagine James Daly also regrets signing for us. Prior to this fixture I'd never heard of Andy Mangan, so imagine my surprise to discover we have a guy who only ever scored goals in Non League football coaching our attackers! I wonder what the dynamic is when he trains with the more accomplished strikers of a similar age in Brett Pitman and Leon Clarke?

You don't have to have been a top player to be a good coach, there are countless examples of people who were mediocre players going on to be fantastic managers/coaches.
