I know this season is barely 1/3 of the way through but the EFL have announced that next season it will start on July 30th to accommodate the World Cup. I know it’s probably only a week but it feels very early.

All the more reason to be getting our skates on with winning automatic promotion!
Play offs will shorten holiday time...

So we finally get an home game to start the season, assuming that the Balloon Festival isn't also a week early next season.

Yes, it’s going to be a long season due to the World Cup in November and December. Start in July and end in May so we will be playing league games over 11 months. Presumably fewer mid week matches. The Championship is going to have a short mid season breaks November - December but we will keep on playing. Add on play offs and it will be very long. Lots of time for ups and downs.
UTG!

It's going to be hard to get into a world Cup in December, don't you think?

I'm a bit gutted that after I win the lottery and attend England world cup matches, Gas league games will continue.....?
And for that matter, c*ty'82 fixtures...
It's only a break for the top two divisions.

Presumably there will be a long mid-season break for Premier League and Championship clubs.
Will that also apply to the minnows like us or will we just have fewer mid week games and chug on through the winter?

Na a break in November for a month for Prem/Champ with season recommence on December 10th. League 1 and below continue on as if nothing is occurring.

It's going to be hard to get into a world Cup in December, don't you think? I shall be ignoring it like the Pizza trophy, no interest in it due to FIFA and their meddling.

For the qualifiers they get to postpone games. Will they be able to postpone all their league games for three cup duration?

It's ok for the minnow qualifying rounds, but rarely do one lower league club have 3 internationals at qualification world cup level. I can't think of any off top of head...

Especially as there’s always a couple of small countries (footballing wise) that make it to the finals. Possibly an African or Oceanian side.

He a little country..... almost.

I doubt they'll be 3 full international players, if they are they'll have the right to postpone their games, then play catch-up later in the season.

Why are league one and two continuing?? The attendances will be well down if there’s world cup games on.
