I’m down the Fruit Market, where is everyone? Were you looking for a persimmon home?

Bought tickets after the euphoria of Oxford, with recent performance. no right sided CB's and 3 home games in a week, I am not sure i should have bothered. Hope we have a plan for the defence, cant understand what has happened to Hoole - our only fit(?) right sided defender Belshaw Hoole Taylor Harries Anderton Coutts Whelan Finley Nicholson Evans Thomas Hoole has been out injured recently I think but according to the Post he is likely to start at RCB today… Gonna be a tough game today as Sutton are a solid physical side and we don’t tend to play well against physical teams - especially at home…. I’m going for a 1-1 draw… Personally my line up would be: GK - Belshaw RB - Hoole CB - Taylor CB - Harries LB - Anderton CM - Coutts DCM - Whelan CM - Finley CF/AM - Evans CF - Pittman CF/AM - Nicholson Bench: Ward, Jones, Clarke, Collins, Martinez, Spence, Thomas I’d go 4-4-2-1 / 4-3-3… use Anderton for his physical presence and height for corners etc and try and get Evans and Nicholson to play off Pittman but also play in the creative space as No 10’s interchangeably to help create…

Ideally you want to pick the team closest to the ones that have produced the best results/performances so far.
The constant line up changes dont help the team much.
As a guess...
Belshaw.
Hoole Taylor Harries
Anderson Finley Whelan Coutts Anderton
Nicholson Evans

The excitement of the FA Cup is not what it was but you would still hope both teams are up for it and want to progress.
Don't think Barton's enforced absence last week will make much difference and I expect Rovers to progress into the 3rd round by the odd goal of three.
I assume Barton will make the journey down from the North and take his place on the touchline for what still could conceivably be his last game in charge if things don't go is way on Monday in Sheffield.

Rovers last played in the FA Cup second round a year ago this week, beating Darlington 6-0 at the Mem. It was Paul Tisdale's first win in charge, with Luke Leahy bagging a brace. James Daly, Josh Hare and Erhun Oztumer also scored. A LOT has changed over the past 12 months 😳

Another great opportunity to make the 3rd round, but in typical rovers style we will probably blow it again. Sadly these days if you do get to play with the big boys it's not like it used to be,best memories with rovers, saint back in the 70s,derby away and beating Leicester back in the eastville days, cracking afternoon. That Leicester cup game was the first time me and my brother had gone to a game without my dad. We got so confused and ended up in the away end! That’s one of the first big games I remember. Trevor Morgan scored a couple I think? The other two that stick out are Liverpool away when Carl Saunders scoreless and Villa away when Marcus Browning scored. Both games had amazing atmospheres. Seems a long long time ago!

Not feeling confident for this one. me either, our preparation can’t have been great this week with Barton’s court case ongoing.

Week 5 of a herniated disc for me, no football no cider! A result today would really help me feel better. Definitely more in hope than expectation.

What hasnt changed is Oztumer hasnt scored a league goal since his Walsall days But playing for a team only 3 places below Mezut Ozil and Oztumer has more assists! Shows how poor that league is. Did next to nothing here
