We did play Aston Villa in the FA Cup in about 2012, just after Buckle got sacked Wasn't that in the league cup? Either way, that was probably the last 'big team' we played at home in any cup competition. Fulham were premier league during our FA cup run although not many see them as a big team and probably see the two championship teams we played (Southampton, WBA) as bigger teams. Before Villa, was it Everton in the league cup around 2001/2?

Just catching up as we went on a 7 hour pub crawl down Glos Rd after the game 🤣 As others have said. Battled well in a scrappy, wind effected first half. Then played well after the break. Harries did his usual but we reacted really well and we used the wind to really pressure their (quite poor) back line and should have had a couple more. Taylor MoM again. Notice their manager gave him plenty of back slaps after the game. What a player for a young lad, coped witth everything. Coutts and Whelan class again. If Sammy and Evans had been on top form we would have won much easier. Now. Spurs, West Ham or Newcastle away please.

I wasn't at the game but that first half must have been so dire if that Evans pot shot was the highlight of the half!

That's all well and good but he comes across as a bit of a tosser (good player though). Can imagine it being done in a patronising way, I may be wrong? He seemed pretty genuine at the time. Wasn’t patronising at all. We clapped him back. His commentary is awful.Eh, day do do dat dare dough don’t day dough. UTG!
