The biggest thing for me is people wanting to sit at the back of the stand and demanding others to do the same. If you want to sit go to the front!

The age old of argument.
For this particular game, the Stratton Bank is still a crumbling old terrace regardless of the bolted down seats. I’ll never understand anyone who would want to sit, when you have the covered option off to the right side.
2000 odd Gasheads in the open end behind the goal, delusion from anyone who thinks the ‘my seat’ game should be applied.

Sorry to be 'thick' but surely if you buy a ticket with a seat number on it it is reasonable to expect to be able to sit in said seat? Same if you go to theatre, cinema. You are shown a map of seating , showing what's available, and you choose your seat , same as home matches when i always try and get seat in East stand and choose from what's available, or any other seating at The Mem for that matter, why should it be different when travelling away? I know from experience it is the case, it was pointed out to me at Blackpool when our allocated seats were occupied and we were advised to sit anywhere, not a problem there as plenty of room but it seems a bit odd to me, mind judging by a lot of the posts on the subject it's me who's a bit odd!

Let’s hope we never leave the lower leagues!!
Can’t imagine there are too many championship and premier league grounds where you can sit where you want.
Needs to be better communication from the clubs involved. Either it’s a strict policy or it’s not. Simple.

It’s for the stewards to manage on the day, which with 2000+ watered up football fans is a problem.

I’ll wear gloves with 6 fingers, they’ll think I’m one of the locals. Don’t forget to drag your knuckles. And take your sister with you.

Recall when we played at Coventry, the group of Ray Winstone Look-alikes came in late as usual and harrassed an elderly lady steward demanding this and that and one said,'I will take this to the European Commission for Human Right's.Total morons.

Yeah I was at that game with my then 10 year old boy. Utter carnage. I don’t think he saw one bit of the game. I understand wanting to stand, make noise, be young and intoxicated but when in an all seater you need to respect your fellow fans!!

It's all about being selfish and thoughtless.
In fact we've become so accustomed to selfishness and thoughtlessness, that when anyone tries to behave differently and to expect the right thing to be done, they are seen as odd and actually selfish themselves. Bizarre.

I’ll probably start where my ticket number says but soon make my way over to where the atmosphere is.

If it was made easier to buy buy tickets together it would make more sense. I'm an ST holder and bought my Swindon ticket on the first day. My son (who can only come to certain matches and therefore not an ST holder) picked up his ticket on the first day of general sale. We're in the same row but over 40 seats apart. A few years back an ST holder could buy 1 other ticket to allow seating together but that option seems to no longer exist. Not sure what the solution is which will keep everyone happy.......

The name Swindon is a Saxon word coming from the words Swine Dun meaning the pig hill or the hill where pigs are bred. That tells us everything we need to know. UTG

We forgive you for being 'thick' Ah! bless you, so kind, but i think I've got the hang of it now, apparently on the ticket there is usually something like instructions as to which entry turnstile to use, a block number(that's the section of the stand you have been allocated, a row number( usually a letter, the front row being A, second row B and so on, and a seat number( that's how far along the row you are) So as an example, Block A row A seat 1 , you would be in the front row in the first seat in block A, quite simple really , hope this helps those ( like you?) who find it difficult to locate the correct seat

You are right, it is simple but not realistic and you are swimming against the tide. With the way tickets are done now, most get their own ticket then want to then sit with family and friends who buy their tickets separately. What I would suggest you do is if the seat allocated on your ticket is precious to you is get there early and you will probably be able to sit in it without too much trouble.

When you buy a ticket for the blackthorn each ticket is numbered but we dont stand on that one spot.

That stand is so old and open to the elements, I doubt all the seats even have numbers on.

People can't be bothered to look at what seat they have been allocated and then blame and insult those who do.
What a time to be alive.
