As richmace said ,fair play to Sutton fans who seem to be enjoying life in the ELF and are just happy to be where they are, think that applies to the whole club though who are embracing there new status .There attitude is quite refreshing and long may it continue. I’d have a fairly good attitude if I was living with a magical creature who can do magic too.

Would like to have seen their shout for a pen before the second goal. Although if it was, then it’s probably a bit of luck we deserve after Saturday. Great finish but what the hell was their goalkeeper thinking?!?! 🤔 😂

I love this team, plenty of guts and passion but plenty of skill too. That first half display was as good as I have seen in the last few years.Look at the age of the starting line as well.it makes all the dads army jibes look very silly Whilst the older lads are not starting it must be great to have them around to learn from

A few Sutton fans seem to think we have a sloping pitch lol Their manager has mentioned it a few times as well now. Uphill towards the Thatchers so much they can't do anything but just try and stay in the game.... Although, no mention of still struggling to do anything second half when you'd think they had the aid of the slope? Unless we have a mechanism under the pitch to alter the slope for us Haha

The only grumble I had with last night is Coutts taking the penalty. I hate it when defensive minded players take pens. I'm always of the opinion that your strikers and attacking players are the ones that go through countless training exercises of finishing chances, are the most naturally gifted players at finsihing chances and a spot kick should be bread and butter for them. It's always a greater chance of scoring for the team too.
You would never dream of putting a striker in goal to face a penalty, so why does a defensive minded player take the spot kicks? Just makes no sense.
As soon as Coutts stood over the ball he looked like he was going to miss, from his short run up, the power on the strike of the ball, lack of accuracy and the height made it easy for the keeper. It was an unconvincing spot kick at P'boro as well. Collins or Anderson should have taken it IMO.

Every player can't score from 12 yards in training, but it's how they cope with the pressure, during a game. It's as much psychological as it is technique. Seen some great attacking player's, who are awful at penalties. Only seen it once, but I thought it was a good save. It looked to be right in the corner, but the keeper pretended to go the other way and got good spring off the ground.

Hard down the middle every time for me, keepers hardly ever stay put. Hit it hard enough and even if they do stay planted, it’ll likely fly straight by them (Becks Vs Argies 2002)

Was a poor pen, just didn’t look confident but didn’t he score a good one last time Evans was out?

Eliot Anderson was utterly superb last night, a performance of an established 28 year old not an academy teenager. His range of passing is slick & crisp, he’s busy offering himself for the ball across the entire width of the pitch & showed all the confidence in taking on his man when the pass wasn’t on. 3rd start for the club and in my view, we’ve finally seen what the Newcastle faithful were raving about. He’s an almost guaranteed starter again Saturday. It is also pleasing to know we have the elder statesmen in Whelan & Clarke to come on and sure things up with all their experience when leading late into the game.

Great performance last night. What was pleasing was the way we gradually nullified Sutton to the point they ran out of ideas and looked very ordinary

Some of the football was fantastic last night, really enjoyed the game, the speed we played at, the one touch football...everything about it was encouraging.
We can say ifs and buts about previous games where we have slipped up (Oldham),but keep playing like we did last night for 17 remaining games, we could be in for exciting few months.

I’m still trying to work out which way it apparently slopes? All the way to the playoffs I hope! Fantastic performance last night. We have a very good team both on and off the pitch. Dare I say it, it somehow felt like a turning point last night for the team, club and even fans. Let’s hope so, I’ve had that feeling we’ve turned a corner a few times this season. We just need to string together some good wins now and we’ll be right in the mix!

It was practically identical to his kick at Posh. Goalkeepers watch videos of penalty kicks so knew where it was going. Collins was on fire and would have buried it

I can't understand why Coutts takes pens when he never even as a shot during the game, apart from the back 5 he'd be bottom of my list of takers. Fortunately his miss didn't cost us the win.

Win in Saturday and we could well also beat Orient.

Always give it to a defender No thinking just blast it. Strikers score on instinct .when they have time to think about where to put it they usually miss at this level
