A fair few up there but, the one where Rickie Lambert struck the ball so hard all Adriano Basso could do was get on his knees and worship him, is a strong contender.

I’ve never enjoyed a goal like I enjoyed that one.
It’s almost as if the phrase “get the f in” was created for it.
Massive rendition of Irene reverberating around a silent Ashton gate, in the face of 82 defiling their credibility and reputation by invading the pitch and assaulting our players.
Nothing beats that goal for me

1988/89 season iirc. Went on to play Port Vale in the two-legged final. Ah, I thought playoffs were later like mid nineties. We’re we Gerry Francis then? That was the Nigel Martyn year wasn’t it?

That's right, Gerry was our manager and Nige in goal. I think it was the year we had Dennis Bailey on loan. Shame we couldn't sign him, he may have made the difference, although the following season more than made up for the disappointment.

1988 We lost to port vale in the final👍🏽 Can remember saying "It's that bloody Robbie Earle again" scored in both play off games. Pretty sure he scored in the other games as well

Ricky’s rocket against the dark side who were going to beat us 6-0 at Trashton and 4-0 at ours. Seeing the darksides keeper on his knees seemingly thanking The gods that the ball hadn’t hit him being the funniest thing I had seen in years!

Bailey played and scored against Fulham, but his loan spell ran out before the final against port vale. Great player, I was also at wolves when he scored that beauty on New Year’s Day

Also the playoff final 2007. Love that team.
“Not a penalty, but it is a corner. And Ashton, who’s been devilish with his delivery all afternoon, plays it into the box….the goalkeeper had come for it….and the goal is empty now as Igoe breaks…”
You know the rest.

Stu Campbell’s goal against Lincoln in the 2nd leg with the original sky commentary “The big question tonight is, on the big occasion, can they still play? They don’t wanna freeze” - Tony Gale 3 seconds later “Campbell…..GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME!!” What a night that was! The video of our second goal at Fulham in the FA Cup filmed from the Fulham end is pretty special too. Singing Irene as Lines whips in the free kick, then that split second of silence from Hinton's header before the roar.

Nothing beats that goal for me A good night. The outstanding memory of that game for me was a city supporter running towards us in the rovers end and a police horse galloping up behind him and the copper hitting him across the arse with his truncheon. His legs overtook his head as he went over. We were all cheering and laughing at it as much as the goal. I bet he didnt sit down for a week after that.
