Not being cynical, but I wonder if perhaps Taylor, his agent and Stoke would rather our club didn’t highlight a potential heart issue.

If believe that the club put in a clause that Martinez can come back into the squad if we do need defensive cover. We seem light in that position but have an abundance of midfielders.
Not sure if Egan is still doing well on loan at Hereford but he could be a big talent.

None of ever think it will happen to us so you are not alone, my own gripe is that i think about the time i wasted rather than doing things i really enjoy but there you go. I do wonder about those who say they have no regrets as i certainly have a fair few and would change a lot, if i had the chance to do it again. We just have to make the most of what we have got. One big thing that has changed in me, is that i am now grateful for what i do have rather than worrying about what i haven’t and i would give up everything just to be healthy. I was scared btw but it wasn’t as bad as it sounds although there is always the worry of it happening again Whilst we are on this subject. I was diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation 5 years ago, largely controlled with Beta Blockers. The real threat is clot formation as a result, which obviously leads to heart attacks or strokes. To combat that I take an anti-coagulant daily. On the one visit to a consultant he told me it was my fault and he wouldn't recommend any further treatment 🤭🤭. Crikey - that was a bit harsh. Take care.

We never got to talk about the impact of my late wife's ill health and eventual death that same year. The hours walking at night in Camden town whilst she was in the Royal Free, praying my phone would not ring. I find a lot of medics grow to see things in black and white, probably because of their exposure daily to the realities of the human condition.
