Imagine my anxiety when the comments on the thread loaded before the link. I thought Billy Elliott had broken his leg!

NEXT 6 / 8 / 9 MATCHES WILL TELL
A CURSE IS ANOTHER TERM FOR BLESSING
Who will be Manager of the Month in April?
Could it be? Might it be? Surely it can't be?

Isn’t this ‘curse’ just another myth?
Didn’t affect Matt Taylor and Exeter last month.
Also been won three times this season by Rob Taylor of FGR and twice by DC and they aren’t doing too badly.

Well done to Barton, his coaching team and the players. A thoroughly deserved award.

I guess it's better than a kick in the teeth ... Is that a reference to how Joey got his lip split ?

Nah this team is ripping up expectations. MoM award not gonna stop them. Surprised Paul Simpson didn’t win it though. Carlisle think too far to take the trophy 🤣

A real acknowledgment from those that decide these awards of the fantastic performances and results last month. It really does show how both the manager and his team are making people sit up and take notice of Bristol Rovers. Also impressed me how Joey wanted to acknowledge the whole squad in winning the award this morning at The Quarters……Well done Joey Barton , richly deserved 👏👏👏 Just a side note to the moderators, I wonder if it would be possible to add ‘Joey Barton wins manager of the month’ to the thread title , as it is a little misleading, I didn’t realise what it was about 😞 (appreciated if you could) 💙

Probably a myth, although Port Vale fans said they are glad there manager didn't win it, as they had a bad run, when DC won it earlier in the season. Lots of times you've heard of managers winning it and then going on a bad run. But it's probably just a coincidence, that they were due a bad run anyway. Would rather Barton won the April award😂

Obviously the sides that win it have been on good runs and as we all know they dont last that long in football usually, so many find the award coincides with a dip in form.
