Getting really bored of the match thread turning into a who started the thread thread. Expect a few can't be bothered to start one now as they'll be given stick should we drop points or just can't be bothered with it anymore, that should not be the case. Those that do get 3 points need to stop banging on about it. It may be funny in their heads and the posters may be nice people but doesn't come across that way in a written format. It's all meant in jest. No offence intended. That's not to say some won't take offence. We're all gas anyway, and we're all here for the same cause.

Five cup finals to come and possibly another three if we don't win those five. Who needs Champions League and FA cup finals when you can watch a final down the mem. Need to play like we did at Salford but score more goals, 2-0 to the gas.

I think we have won the last 7 matches I have started the match thread so I have to start it again. We have had some right amateurs start them in between that run, so your boy is back to do the business. It is a must win game and win it we will. We should have battered them at their place (story of our season) but only managed to draw vs 9 men. It does make you wonder if we had somebody that could consistently put the ball in the onion bag where we could actually be! I'm going for a tense but important 2-1 win leading us nicely into what looks an even tougher game on Monday. Let's hope its a very Good Friday for us Gasheads. Come on Rovers come on you blues!!! Pretty possession football without a consistent goal scorer is not a one season problem. We went from ugly, low possession football with JCH regularly scoring to what we still have now. Three managers have so far failed to deliver a consistent striker. I would be intrested to see how we got on had pitman still been here. He managed to score goals without us creating much. We now regularly get into decent positions, but with no one central to get on to things. I really like collins, but he is not a centre forward.

Going by train today, hopefully a nice, relaxing journey as my nerves are already in shreds.
I'm going 4-0 Rovers victory.

The high press game would be pointless with him up front like when he played against swindon at home and fgr away

On the train from Gloucester. Hope the footie is as good as the weather. Nervous🫣 Really miffed I didn’t put shorts on now, especially as I’m planning the hike from Temple Meads.

There seems to be a lot of confidence on here with many predicting a comfortable win.
However, Salford are in slightly better form than Rovers, 17 points from their last 8, and 15 from their last 6. Rovers have 16 points from the last 8 and 13 from the last 6.
Like Rovers, they made some good signings in January which has helped propel them up the league.
With 5 wins from their last 6 and wins away at Port Vale, Newport and Swindon since the turn of the year, I'm expecting a very tough game that could go either way.
I just hope a bumper home crowd can be the difference. I'm going 3-2 to Rovers.

No idea why anyone will think this will be a comfortable win, if we were playing at Salford we wouldn't expect them to be beat us comfortably!
Evans starting and playing well could be the key this afternoon plus Grant seems to give us more options down the left wing when he plays.

I don't care how we play and we find the ba k of the net, this is a must win game if we are to get an automatic place. If we fail to win, then it would mean having to win our four games to have a chance.

After reading this and reacting initially, I sort of agree. However, due to the way we play with all 11 mobile players working and chasing and being athletic/ mobile players, he may only really have still had about 10-15 mins at the end of games similar to Leon. And would argue Leon is just a good a finisher and still slightly more mobile than pitman. So still think for both parties a sensible decision.
