Pleased to see Forest do it, always a fan of their Cloughie era football, proper football played on some atrocious pitches by today's standards. A City like Nottingham should have a club in the Premier League but then so should the likes of Bristol and Sheffield! 1st pen shout was a dive, the 2nd one well I think Forest were lucky. Diving/simulation, call it what you like, I call it cheating and it should be dealt with much more harshly than a yellow card across the whole of world football. With the video evidence available now, offences should be handled in retrospect with suspensions handed out. It ruins the game and sets an awful example to everyone else playing the game right down to grassroots. The challenge itself must be responsible for putting the player on the deck with the player unable to stay on his feet. All this rubbish pundits trot out about "well there was contact", so what if there was contact, contact happens and these players are fit strong agile lads with exceptional balance and reflexes. The challenge must force the player to the ground. I have no sympathy for Huddersfield and no sympathy for any player conning the ref and all fans of the game. FIFA and the IFAB in particular need to sort this out. One thing VAR has done is vividly expose players who are cheating and football authorities are not doing enough about it. It's not just pens either, it's other free kicks and feigning injury too. We see to now have a pandemic of footballers getting cramp in recent years. Anyone who has had their calf or hamstring knot up will know that you don't get rid of it by someone straightening your leg for a few seconds, then you can get up and run around again. You need treatment, fluids, physio. Too many pro players are just taking everyone for fools, it's rife and ruining the game. Sorry, went off topic a bit! I quite agree its getting ridiculous now. Lower league players are also doing it knowing there is no VAR, even our own Aaron Collins. Yesterday there was a Solihull Moors player who dived for a penalty without the Chesterfield guy near him. Ref doesnt give it but doesnt book him either. I guess he can keep trying to cheat then?...so inconsistent.

If your strategy to get promoted is by running into the box in the hope you can get contact with someone and fall over, then you probably won't do very well if you do go up. I think they should've had a penalty, but did they deserve to win the game, no probably not. Strategy to get promoted? What are you on about? There were 2 decent penalty shouts in the game. If both get awarded, the Forest wouldn't have any complaints. I was chatting online to a Forest mate throughout and he admitted they were very lucky, especially with the second one. Okay, what was their strategy as they didn't have 1 shot on target. My other half was at the game and she said Huddersfield didn't threaten very much at all in the first half and only a little more in the second. I think they were just happy to contain Forest and hope for a penalty shout to get over the line.

That second penalty shout, though. Why did VAR not look at that? Having said all that, maybe it’s karma for being lucky in 1995 We only had ourselves to blame in that game as, on any other day, we would have had at least 2 more goals. That is football for you, some can handle to pressure and even thrive on it, others cannot. Anyway, sorry to digress but i do think there was bias towards Forest

Absolutely agree with 99% of what you’ve said and players now deserve what they get and sometimes they get nothing. They’ve been conning refs for years with all their antics, diving and pretending and they throw their arms high and wide when it doesn’t go for them. So I have no sympathy. But I also know if ‘honest’ players try and stay on their feet and the ball runs out or the chance goes begging nothing is ever given. I’ll be happy to see a pen given when a clear foul causes a stumble without the player going down. But it won’t happen. But... the first offence the NF defender tried to contact and knocked the H player's right leg onto his left leg and that’s why he went down, on this occasion no dive, imo. Penalty all day and they are given week in week out in most leagues if the ref sees it. So I can understand HT being very miffed about it. That VAR saw it and didn’t give a pen was just crazy. Don’t honestly know why they had VAR in the finals when they haven’t had them all season. Best to keep rules consistent from beginning to end, imo. UTG!

Funny argument!! Not sure any team tries to have its game plan resulting in getting penalties A penalty is a penalty though and Huddersfield can feel rightly aggrieved. Really? Player's reaction to going down in the box is one you won't see anywhere else on the pitch. I know they get given, but let's face it most of the penalties given these days are for players falling over, sometimes their own feet. We shouldn't be justifying it just because it happens week in week out. We have a fair share of our own who did this & JCH was the best/worst, delete where applicable, on trying it. I have always hated cheating and that extends to our own team as well

VAR team too scared to overrule Jon Moss on his last game. Absolute farce. I can kind of understand the first one though there was contact. The ref had already made a big call by booking him and it had to be very clear to turn it around, but the second was a stone-waller and as far as I could see, VAR didn’t even look at it. I may be wrong but doesn’t the ref has to request that VAR be used ?

Sadly you are right but the fact Liverpool have more ‘fans’ in Bristol than either us or City is utterly pathetic. We’d all want City to lose if they were in a major final with one of the reasons being because we compete with them for fans, so how come most don’t have the same attitude towards the thousands of local fans of the big clubs? Because we have no rivalry with Liverpool, and a massive rivalry with City? I don’t know if I would call in a rivalry and that word intimates that we actually play against each other and are vying for the same things, what i would call it is a hatred, by both sides. We have not been rivals to them for well over 20 odd years, though you would not believe that if you read their forum and any rovers related pages. The teds seem to infiltrate any group that is about rovers. I am actually ok with that, because, so long as they have one eye on us, they are not concentrating on their own lack of any tangible progress

We’ll done Forest. With zero shots on target, Huddersfield can’t have any complaints. Yes I had a tenner on both sides having a least one shot on target each half, useless Yorkshire puddings I am pretty sure that Nottingham is not Yorks 😂. Yorks is the only other place that i have heard people call other love, there you go, another of Jools useless facts for you 😆

We were wasteful. We let them off the hook when we were all over them and paid the price. Huddersfield were lucky in the sense that you would have expected those chances to have been taken. At the time I don’t think we knew just what a big opportunity that was for us as we had only recently been in the second tier and, at that stage of our existence, had never been in the fourth tier. Anyway, things are a lot better than they were a year ago so it’s a time to be positive!

Congrats to DC. A letter from him I got all the way over here from when he was the Rovers manager is one of my prized possessions. UTG! When i had the crowdfunding page, DC not only donated but also phoned me and i wish I’d have thought about recording it, top class man and human being

Yes, i agree but there is always a part of me that holds back a little and i know that is because if the many close run misses and last minute disappointments. It would be much easier for me to be totally positive were we to have some solid plans but it now looks like i will have difficulty to watch us at home as i cannot stand in the same spot, for the whole of a game. I guess i will have to make plans to get to more away games. I was hoping a bigger proportion of the seats would be given to ambulant disabled but i am not moaning as i know space is difficult

I had to laugh at the commentators making out Nottingham Forest fans have been hard done by and longsuffering all these years they have been outside the Prem. Must have been a right struggle I dont know how they coped...

You'll know where he was born. You'll know which club he first played for. You'll know where he is most often to be seen on tv. Then.
