Yes from me. If we had a 20 goal striker from last year leaving on a free there would be an absolute meltdown on here.
But he will get more money elsewhere probably.

We need a big mobile number 9 who’s also hard to knock off the ball. Furthermore he needs to be a playmaker who can drop deep and get the ball, whilst running the channels and getting in behind. Added to this, he must be a fiery, level headed character who’s relaxed but also passionate.
Ideally he need to be a youth player with 12 years league experience.
Over to you Joey.

As Drogba’s not available, is there anyone remotely realistic in this big mobile number 9 mould?

You'd be mad to turn down the top goalscorer from the division below on a free transfer, no matter their playing style or circumstances. Goals are goals, he'd be an asset to the team.

I'm quite surprised at the amount of Nay's to be honest, he scored 24 goals in 27 games in League 2 last season, he's obviously a much-improved player than the one we've seen previously.

Very average record before signing for Morcambe in 2019 though.

Tbh I forgot how many he got last year. Assumed it was a decentish amount (15ish)and coupled that with the last time he was with us. Be he finished top goalscorer! 100% worth a pint on a free - IF he's even interested of course

I’m torn. I think he’s ready for L1 level. However I get the impression Joey is trying to build a level above what we’re competing in. I’m not sure Telford is compatible with that. Totally agree! His positioning is very similar to Matty Taylor ie has a brain! Always liked him AND he liked us!

It’s actually 24 in 37 league games but that’s still a good return, tho I think he only scored 4 in the last 17 games and Newport flopped

Quite surprised also at the amount of Nay's
Clearly an improved player, we never saw his full potential but has delivered at Newport and some.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him pop up at Port Vale, if not get him in pronto.

He's had one good season. 24 in 37 games is a very good return but his form and goals dropped off towards the end, only 4 in his last 17.
Prior to last season, his record is poor:
3 in 39 - Newport 2020/21 (L2) 3 in 23 - Plymouth 2019/20 (L1) 14 in 48 - Bury (L2) 5 in 24 - Rovers (L1)
Personally, I think it's a risk. Will he kick on and reproduce the form and goals he scored in the first half of last season, or will he go back to averaging 1 in 6 games? He's never scored consistently in L1.

Only Rovers fans would say no to a striker who scored 20+ goals last season! Wouldnt shock me if DT has a very long list of clubs to chose from. Where else are we going to find a 20+ goal scorer for free? with out p****ng over our fire we must remember we're not the most attractive club in the world and will always need to take risk on the free agents market. I would say other wise, we are a fantastic club, with a fantastic fan base, and currently an attractive option for many players; if Dom has other teams interested in him, then crack on. Aaron Collins for me as our number 10. Utg

I used to watch Dom a lot at Stoke. He’s a good player with a bright future. Really good young lad with a professional attitude. He will be an asset
