While I agree with Joey Barton, this should be done behind closed doors. It shows a lack of class on his part. your probably one of the Kilgor lovers.

I take it that Rodman's sock business isn't proving to be a profitable side hustle then?
In all seriousness, I hope he gets fit and can contribute something this year, whether it be for us or someone else. Would be a shame to see his career fizzle out.

Probably Joey getting fed up being asked about rodders injury situation time and time again. There's only so many times you can cover for him and yet again he is injured as soon as he comes back for pre season. He has explained the situation about his contract etc etc etc. I personally don't need to know anymore. Nice bloke or not, he clearly is not up to the task of being a professional footballer and his injury record alone is clearly the reason he is now on a very poor contract. Starmes obviously gave him the benefit of doubt and it would appear has been proved right.

Did any of you who jumped at my comment read the bit where I said I agreed with Joey Barton?
We should absolutely move Rodman on.
You are a very defensive bunch.

Sounds like Rodders signed a duff deal & can’t get fit in order to improve it. 22 games in 2 seasons is criminal, fortunately he’s on said naff contract otherwise he’d still be a drain on the budget like last season. Almost echoes the Kyle Bennett situation. As said above, get fit or get the fu.. out. This ain’t no charity case Nothing like Kyle Bennett. Last season on a very healthy contract, didn’t make an appearance & subsequently a drain on the budget. 3/3 on the Bennett factor

The sock business is his brother Charlie's not his. He wouldn't be a bad player to have in the squad on a low wage.

Unfortunately with a limit on players allowed in the squad Rodman will find himself without a place in the final squad. He is a very likeable guy ,smart and was interesting when he did commentary. The reality unfortunately that whilst he is a pro how he goes about his game and has plenty to offer on the pitch...he just isnt on the pitch enough. It seems harsh but its time perhaps that Rodders moved to a new project in life. And i wish him all the best with that.

Rodders appears to have got into a sticky situation, his illness and injury problems in the last couple of seasons have left him in a situation where he has a poor contract and he needs to get fit to either convince the club to give him a better one or get a better one at another club.
Getting fit it the issue and you have wonder whether he has the body and mind to do it at his age.
Good player in his day, but I think the writing is on the wall. I can’t see him playing L1 again. This could end in retirement.

Why does it have to be said behind closed doors ? It is what it is , nothing wrong with a bit of straight talking and it’s not exactly a secret. You don’t play …. Manager looks to move you on shocker 😮!

Zero on the Bennet factor. Surprised anybody can actually remember when he last started a game to answer that question, problem is he's now missed so many games his body probably can't cope with the rigours of playing football. Bennett seemed to lose his way when it came to playing football, didn't he finish up at Telford, Rodders body seemingly doesn't want to play, there's a difference but still the same result.

Nothing like Kyle Bennett. Last season on a very healthy contract, didn’t make an appearance & subsequently a drain on the budget. 3/3 on the Bennett factor Kyle Bennett signed a 3.5 year deal on over £4,000 per week (you do the maths on the overall expenditure), showed up for ten games then sat back on his monsterous wage and did sod all for three years. Rodman’s likely on a fraction of that, hasn’t played due to injury rather than ability, and has always performed well when called upon.

That’s a strange comment - I don’t see the connection. Very strange to pick on a homegrown player who’s has some bad luck with injury? Think the spelling sums that up. I suspected Rodman would be on a relatively low wage as there would've surely been a more concerted effort to move him on otherwise; however hard to feel sorry for him when a low wage to Rodman is probably much more than nurses or care sector workers receive for a vastly more difficult careers. He'd be crazy to complain about his situation!

He sat on a lovely contract last season without getting a game, secured himself a lower deal for another season this term where he’s even more crocked. Those pennies could be utilised much better elsewhere, someone fit for a match day squad for a start. I wish we were a club wealthy enough to Chuck money away on sick note players because they ‘used to do a bit’, some Gasheads seem happy with that. But it ain’t for me. Thankfully, it ain’t for Joey Barton either.
