Well done Joey, top gesture; looking forward to seeing Nick over come the diagnosis and re-join the squad.

There is incredible. There is beyond belief. And then there is this thread. Nowt wrong with the original post /thread. Think the OP highlighted what he perceived to be a 'good news' story about our sometimes maligned manager. I tend to agree with his perception and took for what it was ,a top gesture, i did not scrutinise it in order to find any negative's in the story, folk should take it for what it is , one human helping another ,imho.

Thank you. That is all it was, a thumbs up for Joey and a very kind gesture.

Staggering that after all the club has said (and almost certainly done) for Nick since this devastating news, people are genuinely arriving at an assumption that the club would refuse to do something so simple for the lad, like pay for a dirt cheap EasyJet flight. The mind boggles.

There is incredible. There is beyond belief. And then there is this thread. Disagree with you. I only started this thread because Joey has a heart and is looking after one of his own. A National newspaper would not put themselves at risk of legal case over something of a genuine case of friendship and goodwill regardless of who paid or not paid. Jezz can we not be pleased for the good things that our Club and staff do. I left this forum before because of the negativity and came back again. (beginning to wonder why) I thought this club was all about family and embracing the core values we hold together. I am a Saints fan because my first game was at 3 years old at the Dell as a guest of Lawrie because he invited me and my dad as he lived a couple of doors up the road from us (cant remember the game or experience at all) The Gas hold a very special bond for me as I took both my boys to their first games when they were both 3 or 4. My youngest played for Rovers Academy for 6 years and was released, and we all still love the gas. and that passion is huge with the boys. All the negativity just winds everyone up, just leave it alone. Enjoy what will be a great period for our club with some really decent people with heart and passion for the group and club leading us in the right direction. I think you misread me. I am flabbergasted that there are arguments about who paid/who didn't pay for the lad's trip; why they paid/didn't pay for the lad's trip. I am 100% with you - it was a great gesture. Posts 3 and 4 above started the rot.

I agree with you its great to highlight the good that people do in our club. Doesn't matter if there is a monetary value attached to it or not. It is very worthy to big up people that do good things, and on this occasion it appears that this person is Joey.

I honestly don't see the issue here? This is the way I see it. An injured player wouldn't normally travel, they'd stay at home recuperating. With the seriousness of Andertons illness, he probably thought he would be too, Joey insisted to pay for Anderton to travel with the squad as a nice gesture, the club agreed. Think some are making a mountain out of a molehill with this, just like the Trevor Clarke issue as well. If that's the case why didn't the club i.e. Wael say simply " don't be stupid I'm a billionaire I'll gladly pay for NA's flights if you want him to join you in Portugal "

Christ alive I can’t get over some of the stuff in this thread🤦🏻

Just something he really wanted to do. Joey's a Multi Millionaire himself
