Even with Rossiter suspended and Gibbons, Coburn & Grant injured I think the squad saturday will look stronger than we had last season. Yes, Geordie Messiah aside. Irreplacable. We dont have many of the weak links left, decent cover in most places. Think we have had a 8.5/10 summer. Lets compete and be clear of relegation come Jan and who knows Taylor is a big miss as well. It might turn out that one of the loan player's is as good, but we have not seen them yet. Plus are the wingers as good as Nicholson and Thomas?? We are stronger in some areas, but weaker in others Imo. Overall we might be slightly stronger, but we are in a higher league.

I definitely feel happier with our squad depth post-deadline day than I did pre-deadline day, which I guess means it goes down as a success in my book.
Pretty happy numbers-wise with every department of the team, perhaps other than on the wings where I’d have definitely liked one more. But Jasper looks like a different profile of wide man than we currently have so confident he’ll give us a different dimension in that position.
Overall relatively pleased. Not over the moon, but then again we’re in a league now where half the clubs wouldn’t look out of place in the Championship (in terms of club size), so got to keep reminding myself of where we currently are in the food chain!

I was expected more. not in quality of player just numbers of incomings, given we have been short on numbers all season and haven't looked particularly good in matches

I had hoped we might have got Jay Stansfield but actually thought he was too good for league 1. I understand why he went to Exeter and it is nice that they have given him his dads number that has not been allocated to anyone else since he died. I hope he does well this season but not against us in a few weeks!

Of course there is the emotional pull with his dad etc, but Jay also started his career there and was a prolific goalscorer at youth level for Exeter too before Fulham snapped him up.

Well close season we lost, 2 very good c/h, a brilliant midfielder, and a couple of flair players, we have signed one of last seasons c/h, albeit injured, what looks like an excellent c/h from Burnley who looks like he will scare a few c/f s, certainly scares me!, a flair player from Fulham who may be better than what we lost and a very good combative midfielder, who while not being on Billy's level, earned rave reviews from his previous time with us , add to that back up for the front men and it would seem we have done some good business, yes?

OK, if we just wanted to stand still but we've moved up a division? Think we're probably noe at bottom third of the division level, not mid to bottom of top third as I'd hoped we would from all Barton's comments during the summer.
