This is going to be the ‘never seen before’ football JB promised us a few weeks ago The thrilling 2-4-4 formation which will do away with defending all together. UTG Doubt we'll be that defensive. More like 1-8-1

Andy Carroll, for a season or two, when fit was the best striker in in the UK,but he's so injury prone.
I wonder how many games he'll play for Reading on his 4 month contract.
In the scenario we could sign an 'old dog' like Glen Whelan, then great!

Averages less than a goal every four games.

52 goals in 138 games across his last two for Newcastle and first two for Liverpool was a fairly decent return in fairness…

Didn't realise Scott Sinclair played in defence these days 🙄 Is Frank Sinclair available?

From todays Post snippets of interviews, sounds like Joey was expecting to get Connor back and maybe even Anderson. Still not really an excuse not to have back ups (that have at least shown they can stay injury free for a bit). Connolly was unlucky, but Gibson and Gibbons were know injury risks. He's 3 - 5 players short (looking at the submitted squad) but gets a free pass on that. Still believe we have a good enough team when fit to get to around 16th, but he is going to need some luck now. I want him to succeed, but sometimes pointing out his mistakes is ok too.

Pinning our hopes on Taylor was naive at best - Anderson utterly laughable. Eggs and basket springs to mind.

Not sure I'd go that far (except to pull a few legs) but it certainly is well below expectations and he has no one else to pin this on. Still think we'll be fine. But need some more good injury news soon

But need some more good injury news soon Not sure you can say he has nobody else to blame, as he can't force players who don't want to move to Bristol/play for Rovers to sign. It seems a regular occurrence now that we have a poor transfer window, not sure what the solution is, or even if there is one, as we seem to have a reasonable playing budget for L1.

I agree ... some good names as a headline but the underlying injury issues not nearly researched well enough and we were even warned by fans on social media about this and that player being as delicate as weetabix !! All the crap around waiting for Taylor which was unlikely at best - then we hear clubs wont release plyers due to their desire to compete in the Papa Johns Trophy - Tripe ! So the winners now qualify for Europe i'm guessing ? Equally .... JB was very loud about how he ran everything Recruitment related and how we desperately needed blah blah but as the window started to close he wasn't running the show any more and it had been passed to Lord Meltchet and Captain Darling to deal with. Result we end up a minumum two short and eight games in, we still have no clue as to best players / positions / formations - utter nonsense, especially as other teams are settled and showing the benefits of that. " You get value at the end" - he said for three weeks - well we didn't - " I will be working on deals right up to the window close " - Ball dropped there then. Now he is talking about Free Agents - FFS ! - Then it will be they aren't fit yet and suddenly it's Christmas and the January window and the band strikes up again !! As a Recruiter / Head Hunter I think the pre window close was absolutely laughable / pathetic ! I'm tempted to offer our services rather than his existing people as they can't seem to close a gate let alone a deal!!

He’s a beautiful individual. Driven by pure as snow intentions. A misunderstood gentle giant who has been misunderstood by a savage media The cigar incident was purely the poor man offering that kid a smoke and it went horribly wrong!

Perhaps you could advise how we can get players who don't appear to want to move to Bristol to sign for Rovers? There's no logic in Barton signing injury prone players if he can instead sign fully fit players, although Gibbons' and Connolly's injuries appear the type any player can sustain, only Gibson's spell out injured seems predictable.

Jasper & Sinclair alternating on each wing, I’m sold. 442 is outdated and no club will have success with it according to Joey. So unlikely to see 2 wingers on at the same time🤣

The more time that passes, the less likely it will possibly be Sinclair, as others get injuries or form issues, etc. I’m very much in favour of him coming in if possible and affordable but at this point highly doubt it and think it’s just 2+2 making 5

If he does intend carrying on playing then L1 or Scottish football seem his only likely options.

Topper ... You do due diligence as you start constructing your potential target list. One of the questions to the agent being your clients Ability / Desire to relocate .... If it's low to zero ..... The players comes off the list and you move on to an alternative target. No way should we be targeting a player who simply does not want to move... its a non entity. FWIW I think JB touting it around as an excuse is just another nonsense - and it confirms to me that his mate Lord Meltchet ain't the Big Recruiter he thinks he is. Still unsure as to what the bloke contributes to be honest.

It seems DC had problems attracting L1 players hence we finished up signing players like Payne and paying over the top for Nichols then gave Bennett a ridiculous contract, then BG did similar with Westbrooke, whilst Tisdale couldn't get anybody to sign for us. Eddie Jennings seems to have replaced TW, I assume somebody as to do that role at a football club, I can't recall many complaints about him last season.
