Would be class to head up to their patch. Especially having seen the series I watched that and I honestly thought that if they knew what they were doing they’d probably do well because of the finances but they didn’t seem to know the first thing about running a football club or understand the game and how it ticks. The players didn’t really seem to be on board with the staff and ideas they’d brought to the club. At times you could see the players laughing at the staff behind their backs. A bit of a circus really and I’m so glad that we’ve got a real football man running our club who understands British football , it’s values and what makes it tick. The whole thing looked like a couple of very rich men who could have ventured in to pretty much anything they liked trying to create some kind of false underdog story. Didn't Steve Hamer once compare Rovers to the Crazy Gang at Wimbledon? What's the betting in 5 years Wrexham will have passed us both on & off the pitch if they get pp for their new stand?

I was amazed see Anstey Nomads are playing Chesterfield at home. Anstey are a TINY ‘village’ team in Leicestershire, just about within walking distance from me. Can’t believe the police have allowed them to play at home. Can see a few locals being up for a scrap. Maybe why they’ve made it a 12.30 kick off (which coincides with Leicester’s kick off time). Also see another local side to me, Coalville, getting an away tie with Notts County. Just seen an item on this game on BBC breakfast, cracking story and is what the Cup is all about at this level, to think Chesterfield nearly became the first 3erd tier team to reach the final a few short years ago! I enjoy the stories that surround the early rounds of the cup but must admit my interest wanes as it goes on unless there is a genuine underdog left in., mainly due to the lack of respect shown by the high and mighty of the game. I mean, it was 25 years ago if we're going for accuracy. They were unlucky if I remember rightly, which I probably don't as it was a generation ago.

Hopefully we get a non league club away, I want to visit the sort of ground where they serve you a cup of tea in a mug.

Just happy Wisbech aren't in the draw. I know we won there but the whole day was one that should never be repeated

Weston S Mare for me. If Rovers went bust then I'd be standing on the terraces next to Pirate. Scott Murray's son plays for them. I notice he is number 2 this season instead of 7, has he been converted from winger to full back pirate?

Just happy Wisbech aren't in the draw. I know we won there but the whole day was one that should never be repeated It was a shame, as it had the ingredients for a classic FA Cup tie, I seem to remember walking across a park, then through a gap in the hedge to get to the ground. Rovers fans were quoting the laws around racism to the local police before they took action - bloke in a monkey suit was giving it large, police eventually got rid of him, bananas very much in evidence.

Fully agree, I do think they’ll be a success there. Also great to see their intentions do seem completely honest and as you say merely looking for an underdog story rather than any Newcastle/Man City Non league version. Sure they can sign a Paul Mullin & Ollie Palmer but their reaction at having to spend 200k on the pitch TWICE was classic. The dust has settled on the initial Hollywood hype & last season didn’t go their way but I think this year they’ll win the league and be back in League Two next term. Would just be nice to get up there for an FA Cup date & offer up a proper lesson😏Particularly to stick it to their troublesome element that seems to have resurfaced now they have national/international exposure & their act together.

I see that a 2nd series has now been commissioned. I've really enjoyed it, the mix of "proper" football fans (who live and breathe the club) and a couple of Hollywood stars - always interesting to see the behind the scenes stuff at clubs.
