I prefer Tarka. It's like a Tikka but a little otter.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind !!!!
FA Cup Giant killers slain by small town Somerset club.
Still, could be worse, # non -league, a re-occurring theme that hopefully will never die.
Got nothing against Yeovile as a club, punching well above their weight for a long time.

As someone who spent, and still does, a lot of time in Taunton that was a great result. The rise of Taunton Town as a football club has gone under the radar in the last few years unless you’ve watched it happen. From the lower reaches of the Southern League South to the NLS, midtable has been remarkable for a town that is very much a cricket town, even in Winter. They have competed well this season in that league with only Ebbsfleet giving them a sound beating. (Much as Ebbsfleet have given to everyone else.) I don’t think it could get any worse for Yeovil than that. I was at the last FA Cup match (I think) between them in 1972 when Yeovil won 5-1. Taunton were Western League club at that time. Taken a long time to get some kind of revenge but I bet it was sweet last night. Well done Taunton.
But still UTG!

Yes big rivals esp in the Western League years. It was always Taunton and Tiverton and Martin Rogers was always a great manager at that level. And he’s still there, definitely a go-to man, a real club legend, imo. Still punching above their weight I think. Must be 25 years since I last went to Ladysmead to see one of the T v T matches. Happy memories. 👍 UTG!

Played football with Martin and his elder brother Steve. Both very accomplished players.

Definitely potential there, they could kick Yeovil in to touch if they keep rising.

I just can't think whom is in charge of Yeovile to help plummet their fortunes?
.....nope, it's gone.... Can't remember!? ,🤔

I used to watch Mangotsfield United a lot in the 80’s and early 90’s. They used to have some good battles with Taunton in the Western League. I’m pretty sure Terry Rowles managed both and the legendary Andy Perrett played for both - what a natural and prolific goal scorer he was.

When I was younger and in Taunton more I watched them regularly in their very good Western League years. But even then in the pubs I went in it was always Somerset CCC that was talked about, even in winter. So I always thought it was a much bigger cricket town. I think they’ve been getting decent crowds in the NLS and of course a decent cup run helps. UTG!

Perrett was a real goal machine at that level. UTG!

Taunton average just under 1,000 this season and last night's attendance was 2,347, with 300 from Yeovil. Incidentally our former player Michael Meaker is a coach at Taunton.

Taunton along with Weston & Bath are bigger places than Yeovil in Somerset, i've always thought they should be doing better than they are.
Same with Gloucester, a population of near on 150k, yet in the shadows of both Cheltenham & Forest Green
