Well I am awake at a ridiculous hour so why not start the match day thread... This is the first I have ever started so hoping for some beginner's luck (I think we are going to need it!). My daughter is at Lincoln uni and I will visit her and then on to the game against an Imps side with an excellent home record. With our current confidence levels another thumping looks the most likely outcome but on the more hopeful side the new players have had a bit more time to bed in, Lincoln are more of a footballing side which might suit our game more...clutching at straws really and I would be very happy if we come away with a hard fought draw. My abiding memory of visiting Sincil Bank is that fantastic play off semi-final. Not only the right result but a brilliant game. As one of the commentators said at the time, it wouldn't have disgraced the Champions League. Let's hope we can find something of that spirit today... Up the Gas!!

Form has to change at some point, why not today…sooner we get to 50+ points the better and ideally before a very difficult run of games at the back end of the season!

We're going to get annihilated. No we’re not, a 1 - 1 draw is the most likely outcome. They haven’t lost at home (records are there to be broken) but on the flip side they have only won 2 🤷♂️. Time to find our scoring boots again, then who knows? 3 - 2 Gas win incoming. UTG!

I've gone for a draw and we probably would take a draw right now just to get a bit of confidence but Joey doesn't know how to play for draws so more than likely we'll go gung ho and get beat 😮

Not looking forward to this one. Confidence rock bottom at both ends of the pitch with midfield probably looking our weakest place right now, and because of injury's players that need to be dropped can't be dropped.
New guy from Villa should start imo as Coutts has been dreadful.
Harry Anderson at RB/RWB
I would also drop Connelly, but unfortunately we can't.
I'll be positive and go for 2-2
UTG!

I'm going to say our priority will be not to concede, so I'll go for a scrappy 0-0.

Glad someone’s taken this one on. I started the home game and that went downhill rapidly. I’m going for a draw. Which would be a good result given the manner of our last 3 defeats. It will be a tough one will all the players missing who could be.

Anything less than a 4-0 tanking would be a result in my eyes

Everything here is pointing to a hammering really isn’t it? Injuries all over the place, players banned, horrible out of form efc
We’re either nicking this 1-0 or losing 4-0

Which Lincoln City will turn up?
The league side who like to draw at Home.
The free-flowing cup side who have scored 21 goals in 10 games.
The attacking side who have scored 9 goals in Bristol this season.
The side who have only won 1 in their last 9.
The team who beat Stanley 3 - 0 last time out.
Any result is possible today.
1 - 1 is likely and would be great for us.

I expect us to lineup 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 whichever way you look at,
Balcombe
Gibbons, Quansah, Connolly, Gordon
Coutts & Ward
Sinclair, Evans, Collins
Coburn
If Bogarde had a great week in training and impressed JB then he could possibly step in for Coutts although with Finley missing out he might want to keep that experience in there and bring Bogarde off the bench late on.
I think we’ll scrape a hard fought 2-1 win.

Joey talked about getting "quarterback" passes through to running forward players. He talked of a more back to basics approach, to help get the confidence back into the squad. He also acknowledged that possession football means nothing without an end product. Despite the usual bores who claim he never accepts responsibility, his interview was clear that it's a collective responsibility of everyone, including himself, to get things right. This could go two ways today. Either we get annihilated (copyright baggins), or the new approach works and we get a long overdue win. A draw it is then. UTFG 🏴☠️🇪🇸
