Culkin. Who can forget his pre-game crash helmet?
Perry. One of the most unhinged players we've ever had. Tilson. No explanation needed. Utter class. Barratt. No explanation needed. Utter ass. Lockwood. Under the dictionary definition of utility player there is just a picture of Matt Lockwood.
Walters. Slow motion stopovers that still left defenders on their arses. Mauge. First players name I ever had put on a shirt. Shore. In my opinion the best player we have ever had play for us. Such a shame injury ruined his career. Ramasut. If you know, you know.
Ellington. Remembered for his early career at Rovers. Someone on the Blackthorn (as it was then) used to shout "Get Nathan on" about 10 mins in to every game when he was sub. Tait. The first and only player I have ever shouted abuse at, at a game.
Lots of players I could probably add but decided to limit myself to one per position.

I don't understand the rules. Is it an actual starting XI on a particular day in the past or a mix and match of whoever we've liked best? Because we have both here. This stuff worries me and I need my blue blanket.

Bernard Hall (I can still hear the thud of John O'Rourkes boot on Bernard's head)
Doug Hillard (so dependable) Stuart Taylor (he was always present and so consistent) Gary Mabbutt (gifted player...nice guy) Alex Munro (the nearest Gas player I have seen in style to Joey Barton -'never mind the ball, get on with the game')
Wayne Jones (oozed talent) David Williams (natural class) Ian Holloway (blue blood)
Harold Jarman (aaaaaaaaaaaarold aaaaaaaaaaaarold) Alan Warboys (Coburn can be as good as Alan....) Micky Barrett (so gifted..so tragic)
Subs: Paul Randall (natural goalscorer...fantastic speed Bruce Bannister (on the bench so we can have smash and grab for the last 20 minutes) Nigel Martyn (best keep to play for the Gas by miles) Bryn Jones (underestimated talent) Alfie Biggs (another hatrick...) Larry Lloyd (love the Taylor Lloyd partnership even though it was short-lived)

I’d swop Twentyman for Tillson Alexander for Perry and Kuffor for Tait, personally I never got the Tillson thing myself, but I am odd. Other than that I’d name your team.

A bonus addition to my named squad is Wayne Carlisle, tidy wide player in a dreadful excuse for a professional football team who was absolutely superb from a free kick.

I forget about Alan Ball to be honest but would he get in the side for his time at the Gas, if that is the test. I was very young (honest) and I remember him being great but he didn’t play that many games. Probably the best player ever to play for the Gas but just not for us.
Great to see the old names.
Archie was my first hero but couldn’t put him ahead of Lambo!

Beadle’s not getting a lot of love. I think he was an incredible player, some of the goals he scored were breathtaking.
Perhaps his going to the shyt sours it. I think he was every bit as god as cureton and only marginally behind Hayles and Stewart

Was waiting for someone to include John Scales in the squad seemed to be the forgotten man in most people's squad It makes you wonder how the players from the 60s 70s 80s would have fared in today's modern game a player of Mickey Barretts caliber would have excelled in today's game lighter balls softer tackles none of the hard men around like there used to be. I was fortunate to see Mickey Barrett play

I was fortunate to Mickey Barrett play I guess you meant see him play? I was unfortunate to play against him. One body swerve and he was gone, by the time I turned round he was 10 yards away. Oh to have a winger like that now. I can remember the fans shouting " skin im" and he invariably did. Similarly to Andrew Evans, Jamie Shore, and Wayne Jones they never had the opportunity to show how great they were.

Also another absolutely brilliant player for us - Carl Saunders. Another player I really liked was Paul miller, 100% effort and scored a lot of goals. A crucial one at Crewe in playoffs I remember
