The Pompey perspective
WENGER returns in new identity as MOUSINHO
And Mousinho had no concerns with his side's opener having had goals disallowed in similar circumstances. "First of all, I haven’t seen it back [Bishop’s opener]," he told The News.

Not asking you or anyone to agree with me. I’d just rather have someone else in charge. Until it was somebody with tactics like GC or the inability to manage at this level like BG or PT, then you'd want another manager? Virtually every game at the Mem is now a sell out, there's no evidence financially the club would be better off without him? Let’s just hope him giving up on another season doesn’t end with another relegation. weird behaviour when he called out a player on Tuesday for not trying. It’s ok for him tho

Just got back... But feel like am still out.
That darn road is ever giving. Some laughs, genuine good and different company again before and after that 3pm pantomime made for another memorable day.
Funny how this fixture always digs up controversy!? Nothing controversial about silly boy Quansah that put paid to the hope we'd pull something back out of this match....but their first goal looking suspiciously offside just made eyes roll - here we go again!? .....why can't they have a jch second pen taker where the ball is still somewhere in orbit?
Anyhoos... Collins had 2 decent chances, but our ex girlfriend more than matched the challenge of protecting the goal like a womb and in reality, none of our forward sperms looked good enough to penetrate their defence.(well it was ladies day).
Conversely, of you bang the Bishop, you get a couple of spurts that were enough to gain victory for a well organised Pompeii outfit that took advantage of their fortune, but we gave them a game.
I'm still unconvinced our mid with Ward is the answer.... if so, what the hell is the question? Bogarde for me gets better and better and more involved...not sure on Gordon...Luca can't cross but it appears many of them effectively can't either... and Coburn has gone off the boil enough to ask what all the fuss is about?!
I liked Lofty contribution. And the Belly. Scotty flitted in and out. The two centre backs had a tough day but done ok.... until one decided hand them a pen and lucky to stay on pitch and the other went in for headbutt champion 2023.....we could have been facing the next few matches with NEITHER of them, so I think we were a tad fortunate.
What the East side lino saw was beyond me but he had the best view in stadium so I guess he called it right, but in truth a draw was the best we'd ever attain against them lot and massive respect to their fans and club for playing it the right way and making a game of it.
We move on after a hell of a wake up call week with a bit of a break..... what could possibly go wrong?
Ask JAB, he'll say all's fiiiiiiiiiiiiine and none of it is his fault...

Bottom line is all mgrs do it to a greater or lesser extent, don't why folk get so vexed about it.

Personally I find Barton calling out individual players in his post match strange but acceptable if that’s his way fair enough. What I find bizarre and surely damaging is talk of how he wants the season to end now. That honestly has really watered me off. Hopefully the players don’t feel the same and because we are not 100% safe.

Really not something you would expect from a manager but then, this is barton As a season ticket holder I'm not fussed one bit. It's the risk you get with end of season fixtures - If there's something to go for we're in for some entertainment, if there's not it's likely to be a drab affair We're looking pretty much set for safety and once we get the points to get us over the line much like in 2019 it'll be a stroll to the end of the season. An opportunity to bed in some of the kids. The passion will be taken out of the season and it'll be like a preseason affair. Someone who is a winner will struggle to find the motivation in that and as as supporter I'm probably in the same boat once we manage to get the points on the board that we need. Maybe he shouldn't come out and say it and it is unprofessional in a way to do so but I can guarantee that any other manager in his position would also have their eyes on the summer and what comes next.

BUT, once we are definitely safe and those comments don’t inspire me to think that we are/will be. What affect will that type of comment be saying to the players ? It’s very poor leadership IMO and , as with many things he says, best left for him to think on

Charlton H 07-Apr Fleetwood A 10-Apr Derby H 15-Apr Wednesday H 18-Apr Vale A 22-Apr Argyle A 25-Apr Peterborough A 29-Apr Bolton H 7-May Shrewsbury A TBC
We'll get 5 points out of that. Tough set of fixtures but we perform better against the bigger teams generally. Win against Fleetwood and get a couple of points and the job is done.

Since Fleetwood have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 home games! It's a bit early to call our season over in my view.

We cann all know and except their isnt much to play for. (Not cut and dried yet though) For me the problem isnt so much he said it, its that he said just days after calling a player out for effort and expecting certain standards The manager is virtually saying he isnt going to put much effort in because there isnt much point. Dont demand x from your players and then give off the impression you cant be arsed yourself days later

We’re 10 points off with 10 games left. We’re not safe at all and it’s that kind of attitude that saw us relegated under Higgs and co

I can’t understand how anyone can’t see this I’m no hater or lover, just someone who dedicates much time and effort to follow my club, and who wants the best for it I just wish he would engage his brain before opening his mouth, it’s not good to write off the season just yet!! Lose the next 3 or 4 and we will be in big trouble. Just dedicate all your efforts into galvanising the support and the players and then after the campaign analyse and see where we need to improve It feels like he’s good when winning, but doesn’t know how to handle poor runs. So for at least the 21st game this season the officials conspired against rovers to stop us winning Think you’ll find what I’m saying is he was utter s**t for both teams…… So no complaints about bias and officials being anti rovers?

Dunno but if that’s his opinion then obviously it will come across in his mentality regardless so therefore it’s irrelevant whether the players watch the post match interview. To be fair we’ve been here before haven’t we ? Ten games left - weren’t going down - Barton writing off the season and we lost pretty much every game. And went down. He’s a very strange man. I thought we were already virtually relegated when JB wrote off the season? He did say we can't get promoted and it's unlikely we'll get drawn into the relegation battle, not that we won't be if we don't pick up more points. No.when barton took over we were 16th ish and a good number of points clear.27 points from 28 games we took 11 points from 18 games .won 2 drew 5 lost 11
