But, is that not advocating acceptance of taking the law into their own hands? I can understand totally becoming angry when subject to racism but to react in a way that provokes the authorities to prosecute is doubling down, is it not?Are you BME? Have you been frequently racially abused? Don't be silly Tilly

I honestly think some on here like to stir it, I personally just want to enjoy the start of the season now. So you keep saying. Don't we all want the start of the season so we can enjoy the footie and get an evidenced based view of the squad and new players. As far as this thread goes, if it pi**es you off then why bother reading and posting...it's quite easy really because I always enjoy your negative posts, I love it, don't you get bored of being so negative all the time?

I see. You see negativity I see realism. Each to their own on that. But like you, I guess, I attend each game believing we have a chance and hoping that we win. But what bores me is child like, wide eyed, optimism when the facts in front of all of us tell us a different story. Monosyllabic clap trap from the management of our club makes it worse, for me. Others may disagree. But it's not me chasing posts around calling those posters boring.

i wish these treads kept to football discussions and not some PC debate can we move this tread to another section within the forum ? But it is, football. It's about one of our players, about (perhaps) the very ethos of the club and how it operates. Just one topic amongst the multitude of the threads. It's easy to ignore and not read it. Should we ban threads on planning permissions and process?

I don’t always agree with you oldie on this - I do, I believe in free speech, I don’t believe in threads being locked Very slippery slope ! Utg 💙

In actual fact yes we've had plenty of reported posts over the last 36 hours or so. The problem is not discussion of the matter it's the manner in which it is discussed. Today the tone is a lot better but if it went back to how it was yesterday with personal insults been chucked around left, right and centre, then the moderator team will need to make a decision on if we lock the thread or not. Ahhh, OK. Well I would have to agree there. Most of the time aggressive, abusive tone and language display an inability to construct a coherent argument. The fish rots from the head. You've said this quite often, sounds like you need to source a new fishmonger!

Have you read it? www.waterstones.com/book/the-fish-rots-from-the-head/bob-garratt/9781846683299Would be an interesting overlay on our club from the team manager up. What do you think?

Thanks for the info, no, I haven't - I'll ask my son, he's always reading this sort of stuff. It does worry me somewhat the NHS use this model, not sure that is a good recommendation!

But, referring to old and ongoing debates, it's fundamentally about accountability and responsibility.

I think we need to worry about some of the rotten fans we've got rather than the manager and owner.

Literally said he wasn’t guilty then went to court and plead guilty? He may have pleaded guilty under advice of his solicitor just to get the trial over and done with so he could move on hence why certain things were not brought up Exactly this. Perhaps he felt it was self defence in the heat of the moment, and plead not guilty in the first instance. Reviewing of evidence etc may have been given the advice that the CPS would find his reaction disproportionate and therefore fell into assault territory, so his lawyer suggests take the fine and move on - or have another trial date in several months time to loom over your head and we'll drag everything back up infront of a jury and you'll probably get the same outcome.

Judges generally are good at judging the seriousness of crime and will sentence accordly in this case the Judge deemed it not serious enough to warrant a prison term or or even a suspended sentence. No doubt he would have factored in the mitigating circumstances when sentencing whilst it's wrong to hit and spit at a woman some people are making more of it than it should be. The guy made a mistake whilst under the influence of drink, everyone makes mistakes and everybody deserves a second chance to prove them self. It's not as if he beat the woman to a pulp, if this was the case I would agree with those against his signing as would most others. Time to move on let the man play football he's Rovers player now, if Wael can give him. a second chance that's good enough for me

I think we need to worry about some of the rotten fans we've got rather than the manager and owner. Who? I would say those who still think racial abuse at the Mem is ok (thankfully a small minority, but still too many). Also the so called fans who put horrible, untrue rumours on the internet about the HGF people, and anybody who buys the last burger when I'm further back in the queue!

“ Brown was in the Posh academy between 2012 and 2013 but was let go due to his conduct off the pitch- something that Brown admits was his own fault.” Given JB's played over 200 league games, with no other reported issues, since leaving Posh then what relevance is this to him now signing for Rovers?
