100% agree. Who at the club has sanctioned this?? No manager in the league is doing this and I see no benefit to our club for JB to be doing it for us. Absolutely. Not sure there is any benefit for BRFC, certainly not the fans. Just checked the website which is usually my first point of contact for news (it shouldn’t be but it is!) and there was nothing on it about these signings 5 minutes ago. Perhaps they’re preparing it as I type. Or perhaps not. Why hasn’t someone, Wael or TG, realised that JBs subscription account shouldn’t be the means of communication about BRFC. Fine to be the place for JB news. JB perhaps taking the p*** out of the club and the fans here. UTG! Why is JB taking the hiss. He feels like he needs to update them fans on players coming in. Nobody else is talking from the club. Bloke can't win. Edit: Are people suggesting that JB, has announced this on his subscription based Twitter or something? If that is true, then yes I don't agree. But all it takes is one person to find out and share the info on here.

This is all very simple.
Barton (quite clearly) should not be leaking information before the club have released it, more so, he definitely should not be doing so behind a paywall. However, until he reveals something he shouldn't it feels like a bit of a fuss about nothing. He is prostituting himself on Twitter, he isn't the only one doing it!
If he one day tells his paid followers about an argument he had with Wael / a telling off he had to give the AC etc etc, then there will be an issue. Until then it is a non story.
My main issue with all of this is that there are people out there who are actually thick enough to pay for this?!

Out of interest why do you feel there is a difference between JB telling the press that he's had a fall out with a player, rather than telling his Twitter followers that he's had a bust up? Surely it's no different than yesterday's tweet announcing that 4 new signings are likely by the weekend, it's all just Rovers related news? Assuming it's not just a flash in the pan move by JB then he's going to have to keep tweeting Rovers news or his 1,000+ followers will soon stop following him.

Like it or not Barton is a brand. He’s played at a high level and had a career that’s attracted attention. People are interested. You’d say that his influence should be reflected in his wages but let’s be realistic it’s league one. I like the fact he’s putting controls in place and it benefits charity. If EP by-pass that then it’s a question of ethics on them, perhaps they would give a charitable donation? How many other manager could do what JB is doing? How can any Gashead say they like the fact they have to spend £5 a month just to read their manager's Rovers tweets/updates, the worlds gone mad when posters support this move. Spot on

The Saudi Pro arguing league, although very embryonic, is throwing money around currently. However GGMI was never the same since his stint in the Saudi Pro WUM League so Topper should consider his next move carefully.

Me neither, the only twitters i know are the feathered ones flying about! A bit like reading the Telegraph or Times online you now need to £4.69 a month to view the tweets he puts behind a Twitter paywall, whoever pays the subs really needs to give their head a wobble as if nobody paid them he'd soon have to revert back to his free account. I don't imagine he'll be revealing any major Rovers related news behind his paywall. I think he's fed up of the press using some of his stuff as clickbait headlines, so they can pay if they want first dibs, it's not as though JB needs the money - he's on a wind up. The new EP guy seems reasonably on the ball so far, that works for me, along with the club social media accounts.

Imo Joey has done and is doing a fantastic job, built / building a really good squad of players, playing a great style of football, fantastic pre-season performances against a top Portuguese side, and last night winning away at Swansea. BRFC will definitely miss him when he eventually leaves; why people on here constantly moan about him is beyond me.

Agreed, excited for the new season, lets hope we can put the finishing touches to it. No need for the last line unless you were fishing for negative replies. The moans are almost all not football related. Imagine how far he could go with a little more thought

Last season was mainly aimless passing it round in non threatening areas and very average football from a largely average squad of players (as our league position pointed to). This pre-season gives cause for optimism, but it is pre-season; we shouldn't get too far ahead ourselves just yet

Wait until we lose to Chesterfield on Sat, then Pre-season will matter.
