**Creating a new thread for the sole purpose of ensuring as many see this and support the application** Afternoon all, So I bumped into Wael and the new owners on the way and back from the Pompey game yesterday. On the way back we had a good chat about the South West Stand through the London underground. He said, 'the local residents have become really organised on their objections. They've formed Whatsapp groups and meet regularly to discuss what else can be done to stop the stand going up. We have the planning review in the next 2 weeks, the most important thing for the club right now in this going ahead is having as many Gasheads comment on the application in support. It could make all the difference' I'll admit, I haven't done so yet but am doing it now. Let's get behind the club and see this over the line, it takes 30 seconds! These people really pizz me off,they move next to a sports stadium then complain about everything associated with it,any other city would be right behind the club,R soles the lot of em.

Please make a positive comment in support. It is worthwhile spending a little time reading through the support comments already made. Please do not simply copy and paste comments made by others.
Simply stating you support the plans carries very little weight.
Consider the way in which noise levels will be reduced with the wraparound stand without gaps.
Consider how additional seats bring more family groups to matches and the beneficial aspects of this. Our stadium will have a better atmosphere if more family groups can sit together.
Consider the extra accessible seating that is included in the plans. There are more accessible seats in better positions with the construction of the new stand.
Consider how the stands provide a better experience for away supporters who currently regard the away area as inadequate. Fans can travel hundreds of miles to watch their teams play in Bristol and deserve better facilities than we have offered in the past, This new stand is long overdue for visitors.
Consider how Bristol Rovers stadium, without the new stand, has the lowest number of seats in ALL of EFL League One. Even with the new stand built only a handful of clubs in the EFL League One will have less seats.
Consider how 16 of the 24 grounds currently in EFL League One are ALL SEATED. Bristol Rovers are simply trying to make a minor improvement.
Consider how the new stands are a replacement for temporary/tented seating which has needed updating for a number of years.
Consider how the stands will have no windows or openings onto Alton Road. There will be no loss of privacy.
Consider how the South Stand faces North and does not overshadow the housing to the South in Alton Road.
Consider how the height of the new stand is significantly below the previously accepted Memorial Stadium development proposals. This new stand is only a few metres higher than the tented stands it will replace.
There are several other issues worth commenting upon.
It is not necessary to criticise the objectors or their comments.
If you have previously sent a support link without any helpful comments you are entitled to make a further comment.
Equally, if other adult members of your household have positive and supportive comments you have not made they are entitled to make a contribution.

It would seem that an empathetic person might prefer a person who has travelled a long distance to watch a multi community event (football in this case) to have a dry ,comfortable place to watch the event. Especially if there are old people,children and those with physical or mental hardships amongst the visitors.Where normal human rights things like toilets,food and drinks are provided in a good and hygenic manner.
You can only assume protestors have no empathy or desire to help improve conditions .

Even worse they apply to have the ground registered as an asset to the community, then complain when Rovers try and improve it. Although perhaps Rovers were a bit naive if they realise they organised themselves to protest. |

Did he clarify why the old one came down before we were in a position(I.e. with PP) to proceed with the new one?
Not got my head around that one tbh.
