Reality is we do not know what goes on behind closed doors. However, taking the new South Stand as an example, I cannot see the authority to commit funds lying with the Head of Sales. So authority to commit was given without a clear pathway for the project to be completed, which is extraordinary. I do know that free help from a very experienced gashead in all aspects of gaining planning permission was offered and declined. Mr Bright was warned by this person that gaining permission in the time frames suggested was highly unlikely. And so it came to pass. Having met both men, Gorringe and Bright I was a bit perplexed. Bright appeared to be an earnest ops guy running around like a rabbit in the headlights, Comms device glued to his hand as he was desperately trying to resolve the crisis of the moment. In that instance it was the Fleetwood owner and directors shouting very loudly about being seated in the middle of Rovers fans. It was hilarious and especially sweet now that the main loudmouth is now in prison. All the while Gorringe was floating around as if a ghost with a featureless face suggesting he had just seen Medusa. I think Bright made the mistake of blabbing about the new South Stand at a business function, however, I have always viewed it as primarily a Gorringe project. Maybe the planning expert warned the wrong person? I do think that we are likely to get permission soon, and, with the ground having been done, the stand won't take that long to erect. (may well end up with egg on my face for this!) Bloke also gave it large to fans who dared question timescales on Twitter. Complete half wit who got the job as he was mates with the right people.

Why would they take any notice of malicious gossip. I'm not surprised this poster has spread these rumours -- Seems to be a bit of habit. Disgusting. There's always hidden agendas with certain people. In regards to Barton I think he's the right man for the job he knows his stuff on the field and the quality of players both perms and loans have improved since he's been at the helm. Whilst he's not everyone's cup of tea and his off the field antics are much to be desired there is no denying that he is good at his job and he is doing what he's paid to do 17th and a £3million loss? Will be interesting how the new owners see this.

David Bright sacked from Rovers with possibly Gorringe about to follow too and presumeably Barton under review These new owners want their own men apparently. Big changes at the club. F in hope so. Stop teasing me, hb! Um has anyone asked what the problem was with previous incumbent and how DB was steamrolled in without advertising the post? Just asking...

No matter what situation Rovers find themselves in, whenever a list of club woes is formed, no matter how concerning/serious or dire you can 1000% guarantee the sacking of the ‘award winning programme editor’ will always be on there😄

17th last season had nothing to do with any of that. We were safe, started changing players around, didn't make any difference. Sadly no pleasing some despite maintaining L1 status which was the objective for last season which was achieved. I don't think some people realise how big a balls up Garner and Tisdale actually made and how much it had set the club back

I wouldn't want to guess why this has happened and I don't want to throw shade at any existing senior levels of staff.
I actually think the team deserve a lot of praise as they continue to raise revenue allowing greater budgets for the first team.
Thanks for your work David Bright.

It might be that DB handled lots of buying and selling at the club . Therefore someone who works in sales might be a good fit ? The south stand...was buying a prefab kit that the company installs i assume (?) As an experienced company im sure they may have handled the required stuff for the pp application (?) . The main issue with the stand is the city councils delays . Whoever puts in the application can only do so after the project gets the go ahead from the owners. Which no doubt comes down to who is going to pay for it.
There is a guy who hosts a podcast interviewing various celebs, sports, business, holistic and science people. Diary of a ceo is the utube chan. He is a successful businessman and i believe is/was one of the dragons on dragons den. Steve Bartlet may be his name...not sure...seems a nice bloke. Anyway ,on one discussion he talks about how employing people is always just a gamble you never know how they will turn out. The key is reacting quickly when you realise its not the right person for the job.

Don't like to see anybody lose their job, and I'm sure he'll get fixed up with something which is a better fit for him. However, regardless of his sales experience, he came with a certain reputation, and did nothing to dispell it. Oh well he can always apply for wrongful dismissal....

I don't see why Gorringe gets a pass. He runs the football club. He would have given Bright whatever responsibility Bright had. The club is in many ways just a more expensively run, PR-centric version of the Higgs days - the stand debacle, the b8g screen in -1 temperatures not working, season cards out last minute as usual, blaming Ticketmaster for everything, an away top saying football is for everyone then telling the away club they can't bring disabled fans, all very Higgsian, even if they've revamped a couple of the bars and have flashy tat to sell at the club shop, run by a bloke from Blackburn who pretends he's lifelong Gas Why have a pop at Pete because he's from Blackburn? When has he "pretended" to be "lifelong" Gas? He does a very good job, I don't care if he supports his hometown club - it doesn't detract from his approach to his job at Rovers. I'm sure that all employees support the club, and form some attachments (if they are here long enough). I'm not on about Pete, he's sound. I'm on about the Terrace bloke.

I don't like that the club does that. Keith isn't a bloke who starts sh** or spreads rumours, so why get rid?
