Just read an article in the Rotherham advertiser where their Chairman admitted that he learnt a lot off of Matt Taylor and has since rectified it. He says he noticed that MT was having to get involved in far to many off the field issues and not to fully focus on team affairs. When they appointed MT’s replacement their chairman immediately appointed a Director of football to take care of all bar team affairs. Loads on here have been saying the same since JB’s departure, I wonder if MT may persuade our owners to go down that route. Sorry can’t post a link, no doubt someone on here can.

Yes, it makes sense from all angles, freeing up the manager for first team affairs and esp as the owners talked about having club staff and not necessarily those brought in by the manager. A DoF would make so much sense in today’s football.
UTG!

My only question is, why is it taking so long to appoint these much needed "club staff"?

The best people will want a good contract with the right terms and conditions. Or we could hire the wrong people on a lot of money who will achieve next to nothing and need a big payoff to get rid of.

If I was the owners I would speak to people in the game for some insight. Get a meeting with the FA Technical Director John McDermott or someone involved in running the Technical Director Course to pick their brains regarding good potential people to headhunt.

Hopefully one day we will find our Waterloo. Heard that they're talking with a foreign DoF by the name of Fernando. Mt's job interview went well , Mr A said I have a Dream , to which MT replied Take a chance on me.....
I always prefered the blonde one btw

Upon his arrival we all thought he was a super tro(o)per but now he’s thinking “ it’s slipping through my fingers, mamma Mia, better ring, ring someone for an SOS or it’s so long and Hasta Manana baby!” The owner looks at him and winks “Knowing me, knowing you I wish it was the day before you came!” MT replies “Same here…I do, I do, I do, I do, I do!”

Poor Crystal Palace fans and their 11 consecutive seasons in the Prem. It must be something about Londoners that makes them feel entitled. I have mates who support the Saints and even though they used to struggle each season in the Le Tissier days they loved just being there.
