A new 5,500 all-seater stand is already planned at the Racecourse Ground as a replacement for the Kop end, which has been unused since 2007.
I would be happy with 25,000

They will have to find another 10 sides on the new development then.

That's not what they said before. It was because the funding wasn't released and they said they wouldn't pay for it themselves. They had planning ages ago. If it was Rovers everyone would be moaning. They were the only club that messed up on deadline day apart from us as well. Got the paperwork in a few minutes late and couldn't sign the striker they wanted. It's okay, as it's a Netflix story though.

I’ll believe it when they’re sat in it.
They’ll lose interest after a few difficult seasons in league one.

As well as having problems getting the funding finalized they also loan the money they put in to buy things. I know we do the same, as so most clubs. But they said they don't have the £20 million for the stand and had to rely on funding. Luckily the government are funding £20 million of it. But they have to meet some conditions before they release it.
This is what it says about the loans to buy the ground. Funding problems and delays can be found on loads of sites.
Reynolds and McElhenney originally set up a company called R.R. McReynolds LLC to buy the club for £2m in 2021.
Wrexham AFC said within the year to June 2022, the firm gave a loan of £3.67m to the club, which included the funds to buy the freehold of the Racecourse ground as well as £1.2m of investment in the form of shares.
The directors said there was "no immediate pressure" to repay the loans that funded the ground and stadium improvements and want the club to become self-sufficient.
They added: "We remain committed to playing a full part in the life of the club and making a positive difference, in every way, for the benefit of everyone.

Fair play to them. Took over a historic club on its knees struggling in non-league and took them all the way to League One, increasing attendances from 4,000+ to 10,000+ along the way. The local area looks like its buzzing.

It will be interesting watching their progress in League One, I would imagine their budget will be good but by no means the best, they’ve captured the publics imagination through the tv series, but as you say have really brought the community together. I think the owners have boxed really clever so far 👍🏾

So far Reynolds and his mate are in to Wrexham for £9m losses in 2 years. There's a very interesting piece in Wales online where Reynolds articulates that they are prepared to lose that and more because " they are in the fortunate position to be able to do so" ,in other words it's money they don't need. Think about that,to progress a lower league club you have to be lucky to find an owner with money to burn, what a business model!!. Reynolds goes on to say that they can only go so far without outside help. I don't see how football is sustainable??

SCMP rules would come into play at some point, unless the Netflix deal etc brings in £m's.

I don't see how football is sustainable?? All 3 promoted L2 sides seem to have been bank rolled this season, if anything there seems more money than ever in football, even Rovers have replaced one wealthy foreign owner with another one, well hopefully they are wealthy! Wrexham seem to have already found some more very wealthy people to invest in the club: www.sportbible.com/football/football-news/mesut-ozil-wrexham-ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-962061-20240429

Next season I can see them being able to afford more due to bigger attendances than us, the Netflix money and a more marketable club. I can see them getting to the Championship within a few years without getting into too much debt. Sponsors and advertisers are gonna be queuing up for a piece of the action imo.

They've already lost £9m in two years even with all that income, with a ground capacity of 12,000 they will do well to compete with the likes of Birmingham City and Bolton if they are in L1 next season. Even Rovers seemed to buy promotion from L2, L1 seems a different beast.

However, due to funding delays and site issues, the Hollywood owners decided to install a temporary stand to meet the clamour for tickets in the short-term. They might have to adjust it to get the funding. The funding was agreed with the government, but they had to do certain things before it is released.

They seem like two nice chaps and they are minted and will only get richer I wish they'd purchased us 😁
The Racecourse with that new kop end will be tidy I'd rather have it than our atrocious stadium that's for sure.

The local area looks like its buzzing. I enjoyed watching the program and I'm happy for the loyal fans. The real test will be when they don't have success or anything new for a season or two. Will they get bored?? Will people get bored if watching the show, if it's similar every season etc. So far they have loaned money to the club, or secured finance for projects. Next season will be a big sign of what is to come. Will they up their investment?? I think it was the Peterborough chairman who said they were all talk when it came to JCH. They said they were interested, but when he said they would sell him, they went quite. I suppose that's better than pulling out at the last minute though 😂
