He was in front of the blackthorn yesterday signing a autograph and somebody shouted 'when you back Stu', he replied, Gateshead. It will be great to have him back but should he be thrown straight back in at the expense of Lockyer, who imo had his best game there yesterday. Start or bench?

Bench , no need to rush him back we need him fully fit and firing for the rest of the season. 20 mins for a couple of games then start him I would have thought.

I'm sure if it hadn't been a quick shouted exchange he would have used the word "available".

Yeah, be great to have him on the bench against Gateshead as cover, in a side on a winning streak.

Lockyer's done very well, but I feel SS attacks more and puts himself about so much, I couldn't leave him out.
Maybe he needs a short burst first time back, to get used to the match pace, but then again he can set the pace!

I know Lockyer scored against Grimsby etc. but if Sinclair is 100% fit for Gateshead he needs to start. Bear in mind the bloke changed the game in the reverse fixture, and to be honest Lockyer didn't have a great game yesterday (always caught out of position etc.)
It would probably be Leadbitter who'd miss out for me if Sinclair was available, which is harsh but that's football.

If Conor Clifford had as much chance of playing as Josh Wakefield has had, I understand why he went to Barnet! Poor old Joshua.

Sinclair's energy could be the difference between winning and losing the title.

You guys remember the reverse fixture right? Crazy talk to leave Sincs out of the starting line-up if he's fit on Sat.

We are going to need everyone for the run in. There are likely to be more injuries and remember players like Mansell are not far off ten bookings.

A few games ago I would have agreed with you but Leadbitter has improved defensively a lot this season and his pace down the flank has been a real threat going forward. Tough call and a nice problem for the managter to have. But in my opinion you dont leave your best player on the bench so SS should definitely start if fully fit which leaves a dilemma on who plays at right back. The other question is should Easter start and if so who should he replace. Blisset was poor yesterday but he adds that physical presence up front that would be missing if he made way for Easter. I dont think dropping Taylor is not an option - he is one of our best players - just wish he was a bit more clinical in front of goal but if Easter adds goals they could be a good pairing.

That may depend on Tuesday's performance. We were off the pace yesterday so another performance like that may convince DC to change things

Gateshead are very much a team that are only effective if you allow them to play from the back as we did early on in the game at the Mem. Personally I would start against Gateshead with the following if available
Mildenhall
Leadbitter Parkes McCrystal Brown
Dawson Mansell Sinclair Monkhouse
Easter Balanta
On tuesday if Easter and Sinclair aren't available then start with
Mildenhall
Leadbitter Parkes McCrystal Brown
Dawson Mansell Lockyer Monkhouse
Balanta Blissett

Sinclair also scored the winning goal and I think he was man of the match. Surely a fit Sinclair must play.

two thoughts :
1. DC is reluctant to make changes if the side is playing well. We therefore need to see how it goes on Tuesday before passing judgement. If we win 3 -0, the Beard will be on the bench. If we lose, the thinking will be different.
2. Lockyer was never a replacement for SS. With two in the midfield, SS tended to have a free role and Mansell played more defensively. The last few games Lockyer has clearly played deeper and Mansell has had a freer role. Arguably Lockyer has been better at the defensive role (after Dartford) than Mansell has been in the more offensive role.
Therefore, if SS is to play, decision comes down to Mansell v Lockyer for the more defensive spot. And that's a more difficult decision than many will assume. Lee probably had his weakest game yesterday and gave the ball away a lot more than young Tom.
The good news is DC has choices. The players will know that anything less than 100% and they will be replaced. That's why we need to see how it goes on Tuesday.

3 wins on the bounce with Lockyer in the middle, could be 4 come Tuesday night, I doubt Sinclair's been in a team which has won more than 2 consecutive games this season? Even if SS was fully fit it would be madness to bring him straight back into the starting 11, unless we get beat on Tuesday, as he must be far from match fit he'll have to settle for a place on the bench, same goes for Easter. Whilst the football's not pretty with Lockyer in the middle it's certainly effective.
Although we have so much competition for places is surely just what we need at the business end of the season?
