They weren't half-arsed last year ! Why do Gasheads keep writing that - maybe a half-arsed manager and board, but I remember the players trying hard all the time - the tactics were often poop and players out of position but the players DID put effort in even the much -maligned Eliot Richards ! Oliver Norburn wasn't kicked out the club and tom parks striped of the captaincy for nothing. JW was to soft and allowed players off field antics to ruin the season I remember what DC said at the meeting with the fans/board last summer... something like "We had just got stuffed 4-0 up north, terrible performance. I wanted to rip into them and tell them what I though, JW had a different approach and preferred to talk to them for 15 minutes about their lifestyle, and living the right way. The day after, several of the players went out drinking". "I challenged Elliot Richards, told him that he didn't want to win matches that bad. Most players would snap back at this, argue that they did. Elliot just leaned against the wall with very little reaction at all" That was the squad DC was working with for the remaining games before relegation. He promised us that things would be different under him, promised a team full of hungry players, giving 100% with the correct attitude. Thankfully, that promise has been well and truly kept and now we are working with HIS squad, he has taken us to the top of the league.

That's very interesting, Centenery Gas. Certainly puts the swap deal for Gow into perspective, given this display of attitude.

Surely it was JW who moved Norborn out of the club and also was in charge when the ER/AG swap took place, having already seen the back of Kenneth & Gill. In some ways DC was lucky to inherit a squad where the really problems had already been moved out.

To be fair, I've not seen those quotes from DC before, but to argue that the players weren't half arsed last year is bordering on ludicrous. Look at the changes in some of them this year - notably Parkes and Ellis (Mildy and McChrystal do come across as two who were, and still are professional in their approach), that tells you all you need to know.

So lucky it took us down and he got called the worst thing to ever happen to the club. Bet he was over the moon.

Time for a loanee, with the extra revenue should have enough money for someone decent to see us over the line.

His reaction when he was pushed out made me think he thought more of us than that.

And I don't think he would lie about it

Sinclair out for six to 10 weeks according to James Mcnamara. He must have twisted it as he leapt up then, because from what I could see on the highlights it was a simple knock when he hit the ground and I can't see how that would mean 6-10 weeks out. I guess we'll hear in time the exact cause etc. DC has to bring in some experience in midfield - we could be without Sinclair, Mansell and Lockyer in a few games time if the latter two pick up bookings.

If we weren't in such a good position and looked doomed to finish mid-table, I'd be super tempted to start Bliss and Harrison, stick Matty in an attacking mid position and recall Jamie Lucas as cover until Easter is back. This is obviously too risky to be trying in our position but if Jay can net a hat-trick in the league below I trust him in a pinch and I'd love to see if Matty could cut it in a support role.

I'm quite relieved at 6-10 weeks. Could have been an ACL. We may not see him again this season but he'll be raring to go in August.

Can't see that DC has any choice but to bring in a CM to cover the injury, what with Mansell close to a suspension and Ollie Clarke still injured. I'd like to think that this time we won't be going for someone inexperienced and clearly not rated like Josh Wakefield was and will go for someone who can come in and make an impact. Not always easy to find, but there is no way we can't sign someone who isn't ready to play first team football straight away.

So how would he have coped if he still had Kenneth & Gill in the squad, JJOT was the only real bad Apple left but he only really turned bad once DC took over.

But how many experienced midfielders are going to rush to sign for us when they know they might be sat on the bench for a month? We've no idea if Wakefield was up to it or not as he never got anywhere near playing, could he really be any worse than Clark was before his injury? I still can't see why DC doesn't try Monkhouse in midfield as surely he's a better option than an inexperienced youngster brought in on loan? We then have plenty of options to play in his left wing role.

Especially with the tantalising offer of being part of a possible promotion.
